Dixie Carter's Cause of Death Announced

According to an article published by the Insider, Dixie Carter, who passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 was said to have died due to complications from endometrial cancer. Endometrial cancer is a common form of uterine cancer.

Dixie Carter's Obituary

Dixie Carter's obituary ran today, April 12, 2010 in the New York Times. The cause of death listed on her obituary, as stated by her husband Hal Holbrook was complications of endometrial cancer. I have attached a link to Dixie Carter's full New York Time's obituary. It does state that she died at a Houston Hospital. Dixie Carter was seventy-years-old at the time of her death.

Designing Women

Dixie Carter will be most remembered for her role as Julia Sugarbaker on CBS hit comedy, Designing Women. Carter co-starred with Delta Burke, Annie Potts and Jean Smart in the successful comedy series about four southern women, which aired on CBS during the 1980's and 1990's.

After Designing Women

Following her role as Julia Sugarbaker on Designing Women, Dixie Carter remained in show business appearing on Broadway in the Broadway musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie and appearing on television in several episodes of Desperate Housewives and Family Law.

Dixie Carter is survived by her husband, Hal Holbrook and two daughters. She will be missed by many.
