DIY: Baby Photo Frame

Avery Ryan
Need a gift for a baby shower? No idea what to get? Here is a great idea that is unique, personal, and very simple.

Just recently, some friends of mine had a baby, and I had no idea what to get them. So, I was wandering around the local craft store and saw some craft frames and thought it would be a good idea to make one, because it has a personal touch to it and they won't get duplicates.

Do It Yourself Photo Frame

Materials
- Plain craft photo frame - canvas or wood. You should be able to find some at your local craft store.
- Acrylic paint - pastel colors work great!
- 3D scrapbook stickers or any other kind of stickers you like - maybe letter stickers to spell out a name. (Glue might be needed).
*Optional - glitter, ribbon, bows, etc.

There are only three simple steps.

1. Paint the craft photo frame the color of your choice. Just make sure, if there is glass or plastic in the frame, that it is removed, so you don't get paint all over it. You want to make sure you can see the picture when it is put in the frame. I used canvas craft photo frames and painted them a light blue. You may want to put a second coat of paint on once the first coat is dry, just to make sure the paint is even.

2. Once the paint is completely dry, figure out where you want to place the stickers. Then place the stickers on. If you don't think the adhesive on the sticker will hold the sticker on the frame, just use a little bit of craft glue. I used stickers with teddy bears, baby bottles, and a stork for one of the frames. For the second frame, I used a rubber ducky sticker and a bathtub. Theme frames can work out nicely. For example, I did a bath time themed one with a rubber ducky and a bathtub. You can always do a theme like baby's first tooth, or first day of school for an older kid, or even a graduation themed one for the high school graduate.

3. You can add anything else if you would like. Glitter, ribbons, bows... Once it is decorated, it is ready to go! I did not add anything extra to the ones I made. I thought they looked good just the way they were. Sometimes simple is better, but not always.

This easy project works great for other occasions besides baby showers too! It is a great gift for just about anything, and it is easy and inexpensive. You can even make some for yourself instead of giving it away as a gift!
