Chocolate Banana Face Scrub
This is a delicious smelling (and tasting!) recipe that exfoliates dry, dull skin and moisturizes at the same time. The salt and yogurt break down dead skin, the chocolate pulls out impurities and the banana moisturizes. Here's what you need:
1/2 ripe banana
3 tablespoons plain yogurt
2 squares bakers chocolate
1 tablespoon salt
First, melt your chocolate in a small microwave safe bowl until it's completely melted. Heat in bursts of 15 seconds and stir in between. Be careful not to burn it! Once the chocolate is fully melted, mix in the yogurt.
In a separate bowl, take your half banana and cut into small pieces. Mash in the bowl. Once your banana's are good to go, pour the chocolate/yogurt mix over it and stir. After you've reached a smooth and consistent texture, add your salt and blend thoroughly.
Apply a generous amount to your face and massage into your skin in circular motions. Let the mixture set for 10 minutes and rinse away with warm water. Make sure you remove everything and then gently pat your face dry!
Banana Foot Moisturizer
I love to mix this recipe up after a long day at work. It does wonders on sore and dry feet. It's easy to make, too! Grab these items before you begin:
1 ripe banana
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 lemon
To start, peel your banana and cut it into small pieces. Mash the pieces in a medium sized bowl until it is thoroughly mixed. Next, cut your lemon in half and squeeze the juice from one half of the lemon. Be sure to remove any seeds that escape into the bowl!
Next, add your extra virgin olive oil and stir until all the ingredients are mixed together well. I like to zap this one in the microwave for 15-20 seconds because it makes the treatment a little more soothing. Feel free to heat it up or apply it as it is!
Apply the mixture to your feet and let it set for 15-20 minutes. Rinse away with warm water and gently pat dry. Follow up with some lotion and put some socks on to lock the moisture in!
