First of all you have to add some color to your cabinets, and this can be done simply with some radical paint or designs. Stencils can be picked up at your local crafts store if free-handing is not your thing, or you can cut some out of thick card stock or used cereal boxes (for that eco friendly touch) . Fairly simple stencil designs such as crescent moons, stars, or suns can reflect your astrological views and add some flare. Glow in the dark paints often add a little something extra without the price going up, the only problem being the resale value of your home or apartment (most people do not want a glow in the dark bathroom).
In order to keep the resale value up and yet add your own personality temporarily attempt switching out the hardware on your cabinets. Often simple knobs and brass rings do little more than serve their intended function, but with a few steps you can remove those old fittings and add your personality without permanently altering your Cabinets.
First go to your local hardware store and pick up a few plain wood screw in cabinet knobs (try and go with a local store or pick up some used ones someplace, remember we are going bohemian here). Knobs can generally be purchased for under a dollar a piece(hardware included). Next pick out some classic soda pop tops, the bottle cap crown kind. Paint the wooden knobs to match the colors of your bathroom and select a bottle cap which compliments this color, such as a green bathroom would have a green knob with a sprite or seven-up bottle cap. Using a glue gun fill the inside of the bottle cap with hot glue and press it hard against the knob of choice. Then remove your old hardware and replace with your new hip knobs. When moving out of your place or redecorating, the knobs can easily be replaced or removed without leaving any damage to your cabinets.
Another simple option, which can be done easily and leave little to no permanent damage, is to remove your cabinet doors. Take a screw driver and simply unscrew the hardware fittings which attach the doors of your cabinets to the cabinets themselves. This will create a more open look and be a bit freer flowing and add a less restrictive feel to the bathroom. The downside being that if you tend to have a messy bathroom, this feature will accentuate that aspect and leave it open to the world (or whoever enters your bathroom). Curtail the downside of door free cabinets by placing small fitted baskets inside your cabinets which can serve as catch alls for your various gels and shaving equipment. Strike that! I meant dread wax and Burt's bees products; you are going bohemian after all. Baskets can be found at yard sales or woven yourself if you have the time, or at a corporate giant if you intend to sell out for feng shui.
