If you are interested in building a pool deck for your home, here are some steps on how to build a pool deck.

Start building your pool deck with the floor. You should keep in mind that the size of your pool will greatly depend on the design that you will be choosing for your pool deck. The boards for your pool can be connected using hangers and metal corner brackets. Actually, you will be needed an approximate of 17 of these brackets, especially if your pool floor is 6 by 2 in size.

Create posts that will support the frames. Once you have built your frames, you will need to build posts that will support the frames. The posts should be 4 by 4 in size and these will be supported using pier blocks made of concrete. Actually, these posts do not need any cement or you don't have to dig holes for this. These posts should be set on the blocks and your desired pool level will be marked on these blocks. In addition, you will also have to measure the right thickness of the post and cut accordingly to determine the height of your pool deck.

Fasten the frames to the post. Through the use of deck screws you can fasten the frames that you have to the posts that you had just built. In order to set everything right, you can use a good level.

Once the frames and the posts are installed, you can use diagonal braces in between. Keep in mind that the diagonal braces should be angled towards the pool. It should also be made within the deck perimeter.

Deck boards should be laid in a parallel position with a frame. The board should be cut and should fit the opposite side. You can secure the deck boards by nailing them using deck screws.

Attach the main rail by screwing them. Once done, you can also include guard rails for your pool deck. When creating your pool deck, you have to ensure that the materials have uniform length to save you the hassles of having to cut it if the length is not appropriate.
