Looking to make your own cascading wedding bouquet? Here are some tips and ideas on how to do just that! Depending on what type you will be making here are some general materials needed!

Floral Foam

Floral Stem Wrap

Ribbon

Flower's (Fresh or Satin) in color of your choice, may I suggest going with your wedding colors!

Stems of greenery

Filler Flowers such as baby's breath or something else small

Floral Wire

Vase or Bouquet Stand

Wire Cutter

Scissors

Bowl

Water

Large Work Area

To begin cut the floral foam to fit your bouquet holder. For fresh cut flowers set the floral foam and bouquet holder upside down in your bowl filled with water, this lets it soak up water to keep your flowers fresh. It would be best to make the fresh flowers bouquet the night before the wedding to keep it alive and beautiful for your wedding! If using silk flowers you may skip this step! Next place the bouquet holder in a vase (weighted down with marbles or rocks to keep from tipping over) or a bouquet stand; this gives you the advantage of having both hands free to work on your bouquet arrangement. Take you're longest stems that you will be using for the cascade and lay them out on the table to wrap them in stem wrap, this will help to keep the stems from breaking. The longest stems should be from 6" to 12" long depending on your desired length of cascade. Insert these flowers into the floral foam the way you would like them to cascade down. Experiment with your flowers to decide where you would like to place the key bigger flowers that will be the showcase of the bouquet! Then you can stick them into the floral foam after cutting to desired length. After placing the bigger flowers in, you are then ready to add the filler flowers, smaller flowers, and greenery. Be sure to arrange them so that your bouquet does not have any rough edges. With your bouquet now assembled, you can wire the cascade flowers to the bouquet holder so that they are stable and do not break with the downward weight. Make sure to wrap all exposed wire's and stems with floral wrap to keep them from cutting your hands or snagging and tearing your beautiful dress. Lastly wrap the ribbon around the handle to create a finished look on your bouquet. Store your flowers in a cool area such as the fridge to keep them fresh until the wedding ceremony time!
