Why spend money to buy Christmas party invitations when you can do it yourself at home for little to no money? Make this year's Christmas party invitations memorable with these DIY Christmas party invitations and wording ideas.

DIY Christmas Party Invitation and Wording Ideas: White Christmas

-Cardstock, white

-Scissors

-Glue stick

-Glitter, blue, silver, white

-Envelopes, store bought or DIY

Determine the size of your DIY Christmas invitations, full-sized or postcard? For full-size fold a sheet of cardstock in half. Use your fingernail or the blunt side of the scissors to give your invitations a crisp crease. For postcard invitations, cut a sheet of cardstock in half, then fold each half in half.

Print out one of these Christmas Graphic Banners for the front of your party invitations. My favorite is the icicles Merry Christmas. Cut a few snowflakes from printer paper, and glue them on the front of your Christmas party invitations.

Put glue on a snowflake, then sprinkle glitter on it. You can make each snowflake a different color. Tap off excess glitter into a bowl or on a sheet of newspaper.

Inside the Christmas invitation, write: We're dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones we've always known....Please join the (insert name of family) at (address, date and time). Add any other wording you may want to add with details for your Christmas party.

Envelopes may be store bought to fit the size of your DIY Christmas party invitation, or you can make them yourself. Drop by The Knitted Blog, Make Your Own Envelopes, for step-by-step directions.

DIY Christmas Party Invitation and Wording Ideas: Vintage Christmas

-Cardstock, any color

-Scissors

-Glue Stick

-Old Christmas cards

Fold the cardstock as directed above for full-sized or postcard party invitations.

Look through old Christmas cards and cut out the pictures that are vintage. Don't have old Christmas cards? Stop by Karen's Whimsy Free Christmas Clipart or Free Vintage Christmas Images, and print out images for your Christmas party invitations.

DIY Christmas Party Invitation and Wording Ideas: Snowy Night

-Cardstock, white

-Cotton balls

-Glue

-Gold star stickers

Fold the cardstock into full-sized or postcard invitations, as outlined in the White Christmas DIY Christmas party invitation.

Use your fingertips to gently pull on a cotton ball until you have a fluffy bit of snow. Do this using one or two per card as needed. Spread glue across the bottom of the card and place the cotton ball snow on it.

Write or print out a greeting for the top of the Christmas party invitation, then place the gold stars across the invitation in the "sky." Print out a snowman, or two from Christmas Snowman Clipart site. Cut them out and glue in place on top of the "snow." Finish the inside of the card with wording ideas at Wording for Christmas and Holiday Party Invitations or Wording for Christmas Party Invitations.

I hope you have as much fun making these DIY Christmas party invitations as I had writing them.
