DIY Christmas Wreath: Go Green While Dreaming of a White and Blue Christmas

Christmas wreath ideas do not have to come in just green. With these unique Christmas wreath ideas you can bring life to color above a mantel or even for the front door. Here's a guide on how to make Christmas wreath doubles and one excellent single wreath.

Dreaming of a White Christmas, and Make that a Double!

Items needed: Two small wreaths (available at most craft stores, and sometimes at a buy one, get one free sale or at most tree lots), glue gun, floral wire, two short nails, hammer, twelve white Christmas bulbs, twelve 2" - 4" white snow flake decors (snow flake ornaments will do), a pack of mini-white candy canes, and a can of fake white snow. To personalize these wreaths use bows that have the initials of your last name in the center on the face of the bow. They are sold in some craft stores and most party supply stores.

Instructions: Spray the wreath lightly with the white snow. Take off the round and metal hooks from each bulb. Be careful since the edges of the bulbs may be sharp as they could be glass. While you heat up the glue gun place six bulbs on one wreath on equal measures. One on top, one on the bottom and two on each side at equal lengths. Do the same for the second wreath. After this, glue on each bulb where you have placed them with the openings towards the wreath so no one can see the openings.

Take off any hooks from the snow flakes, if there are any. Place the snow flakes between the bulbs. Glue them as well. Randomly place the candy canes upon the wreaths. You may notice that you have the created each wreath in the clock formation.

Last item to connect would be the wire. Twist the floral wire onto the back of each wreath on the top center. Nail the small nail onto the right side of the outside door. Nail another onto the left side equal in measure. Take another piece of floral wire to place the personalized bow on the top center portion. Hang up your beautiful petite white wreaths.

You'll Have a Blue Christmas

Items needed: One large wreath (again, you can purchase this at most craft stores or at most tree lots), a pack of 24 small blue Christmas bulbs, a small pack of see through star shaped bulbs (also found at craft stores), a pack of mini-blue candy canes, glue gun, floral wire, an extension cord, one medium sized nail, and a strand of 25 Christmas bulbs (all blue). Do not forget to personalize this wreath with the bow that has the initials of your name on the center of the face. Again, you can find these bows at some craft stores or most party supply stores.

Instructions: Place the blue Christmas lights upon your wreath evenly. You can work it through the branches if you wish to. Heat up the glue gun while you take off the hooks from the pack of round bulbs and clear stars (if they have any). Place the 24 bulbs evenly and equally upon the wreath. Glue them down with the openings towards the wreath. Randomly glue the clear stars where you wish to place them.

After this you will place the floral wire on the top center to hang up your beautiful wreath. Nail in the nail on a door or above the center of a mantel. Do not hang your wreath too close to the fire of a fireplace. Put on the mini-candy canes where you wish to. Finish by putting on that bow with the use of another piece of floral wire. It should be located at the top center of the wreath. Once you have hung your wreath, sit back and enjoy your Christmas creation.
