You can make bath time more convenient by building a corner space saver bathtub shelves. A set of corner shelves can provide a secure place to store your shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath and body soap. It can also provide a space for the kid's bathtub toys while saving space for towels and other bathroom necessities in the linen closet. Corner shelves above the bathtub will make good use of a space that would otherwise be wasted.

Materials for Corner Space Saver Bathtub Shelves

You will need a basic plan drawn out for your corner space saver bathtub shelves before you begin construction. From this plan, you can determine the quantity of material you will need to build your corner shelves. Other materials you will need are sheet rock screws, wood screws, some type of marking pencil, a drill with a Phillips drill bit, level, wood glue, stain or paint, sand paper, smooth plywood, tape measure, saw, hammer, and 2x2 inch lumber for the corner shelf supports.

Steps for Building the Corner Space Saver Bathtub Shelves
You should have already determined where to place your corner space saver bathtub shelves. It is now time to begin marking the placement of the corner shelves.

1. Using the tape measure, measure and mark the desired height of each shelf. Then you will use the level to mark a level line for the shelf supports.

2. Measure and cut each shelf support length.

3. Find the wall studs and mark their locations.

4. Line the corner shelf supports up with the lines drawn with the level. Use the sheet rock screws and the drill with the Phillips drill bit to attach the supports to the wall at the wall studs.

5. Measure and cut triangular shelves out of the plywood for your corner space saver bathtub shelves. (You may have stained or painted your plywood prior to cutting it. If so, you will need to touch up the edges after this step in the construction of the corner space saver bathtub shelves.)

6. Attach the corner space saver bathtub shelf to the shelf supports using the wood glue and wood screws.

7. If you did not stain or paint the corner space saver bathtub shelves before cutting them, you will want to do so now. You will also have to cover the tops of the screws with the stain or paint.

It doesn't take a lot of work or money to build a set of corner space saver bathtub shelves and make use of the wasted space in your bathroom. Now it is time for a relaxing bath, perhaps put some candles up in your space saver shelf, or set a glass of wine on it and relax.
