Instructions to make a DIY Easter egg hidden pieces game:
Remove the wrapper from your plastic juice bottle and wash out this container thoroughly with mild soap and water. Allow the bottle to dry and then pour a small layer of jelly beans into the bottom of this container. The layer should only include five or six jelly beans, depending on their size. Add more or less jelly beans until the bottom of your plastic bottle is covered. Follow these jelly beans with a layer of yogurt raisins, using the same method of only covering what lies at the bottom. Add a layer of candy coated chocolate covered peanuts, followed by one layer of foil-wrapped chocolate eggs.
Put one of your malted eggs on top of the layers of Easter candy. Repeat this step, adding one malted egg for every four layers of candy until all seven malted eggs are in the bottle. Cover or surround the last malted egg with jelly beans and make sure to leave some room at the top of the bottle. This room will provide the extra space necessary for the candy to be moved around during searches in your Easter egg hunt game. Close the bottle and shake it well to mix up the candy contents inside.
Cut a three circles from the brown construction paper with scissors. These circles should match the size of the width of your plastic bottle. Place these circles aside and then cut your green construction paper into small strips of paper measuring ½ inch wide and 2½ inches long. Attach these strips to the bottom center of your plastic bottle, one at a time using glue.
Bring the remaining sections of these strips up, wrapping them over the outer end of your plastic bottle to make them look like grass coming out of the ground. Glue these strips in place to keep them secure. Cover the bottom of your bottle with the brown circle shapes using glue. Give one index card and one writing utensil to each guest and instruct him or her to write down each malted egg that they find in your bottle. You can play this Easter egg hunt game using time restrictions that require eggs to be found quickly or offer the hidden pieces game for fun during other holiday celebrations.
