DIY Footed Free Standing Vase Out of a Tomato Cage

This is a really unique project that will add that extra touch to any home decor. Once again very inexpensive and easy to do.

YOU WILL NEED:
1 Silver Metal Cone Shaped Tomato Cage. Size Of Your Choice.
1 1/2 Yards Of Fabric More OR Less Depending On The Size Of Cage You Chose
1 Can Of Spray Adhesive
Glue Gun
Metal Benders. Pliers Work.
Level
Scissors
Fabric Chalk
1 White Styrofoam Disc Smaller Than The Opening Of Your Tomato Cage

First step is to lay your fabric face down on a flat surface, so the back of the fabric is facing you. Next take your tomato cage round part pointing away from you, and place it on top of the fabric leaving a one inch space between the side and top of cage, gently trace the side of the cage with your chalk on to the fabric. Put a piece of tape on the cage, this will let you know when you have completed one full turn when it is visible again on the other side. Roll the cage on full turn on the fabric and repeat the tracing on the other side. Do not forget to leave that extra inch on the other side.

Cut the fabric along your chalk line, it should look like a large triangle. Now take your fabric and turn the edges in a 1/2 inch, using the glue gun add just enough hot glue to keep these hems together.

Next take you fabric and give it a good dousing of spray adhesive in a well ventilated area. Take your tomato cage and place it on the fabric leaving the 1/2 hem of fabric to hang over the top. Now tightly wrap your fabric around the cage, leaving the four metal prongs exposed at the bottom and meet your hems. Using the hot glue gun glue your side hems together, being rather generous but not messy. Take that 1/2 inch hem at the top and fold down and generously hot glue it down.

Stand your cage up round part down. Take your pliers and bend those metal prongs out and somewhat flat. Trying to get all the metal prongs level this part will take a little patience but keep using your level to get it right. These are your feet. Any loose fabric at the bottom can be tucked up and in and glued down.

Now insert you styrofoam disk and add a beautiful silk floral arrangement.
