To Make a Soft Frog Headboard You Will Need:

Green Furry Fabric

Plywood

Jigsaw

Staple gun

Foam

Various Other Materials

To get started you need to cut out one large circle from a sheet of plywood. You want this to be as wide as your bed, but of course you can make this bigger as you wish.

Sand all edges to this first step of your frog headboard make sure they are smooth and will not have splinters.

Now, go ahead and cut out a sheet of 2 inch thick foam in the same size circle. Use spray adhesive to glue this onto the plywood.

Lay a sheet of green fabric face down on the floor and then top of with your foam circle and plywood. Foam side down. Pull the green fabric around it and staple it to the back.

Now, go ahead install two picture hanging brackets on the back, the industrial metal kind.

Flip the headboard over so the green side up. You need to add the eyes.

Cut out two circles from the foam, the 2 inch foam you used earlier. These can be decorated to look like eyes in many ways. You can wrap them in white fabric and use fabric paint to paint on green eye lids and black details.

Use fabric glue to adhere the frog eyes to the headboard. You want these near the top of the circle.

Once the eyes are attached you can work on adding more details using fabric paint. You can add as much detail as you want to your frog headboard at this point. Here are some tips:

Use yellow fabric paint to add spots. You can also make a light green mixed with yellow to make thes spots.

A simple mouth can be made so you can paint on a tongue.

Let the kids help paint and decorate their frog headboard. They will have a great time and love having it into their room.

Finally, hang two crews into studs in the wall above the bed. Hang your frog headboard by sliding the picture hanging hooks onto the screws and you are finished.
