D.I.Y. Goat's Milk Face Mask

Cure Your Case of Dry Skin with All Natural Ingredients at Home!

N. Soltys
For decades upon decades, milk of all varieties has been used to help the skin. When afflicted with dry skin problems such as eczema or other dry, itchy skin problems, it's easy to find relief using things like milk, yogurt, egg, and honey. It's better to use natural at-home ingredients when you have overly dry or sensitive skin, because there's less confusing ingredients involved in your skincare regimen that might irritate you or worsen a condition.

One of the best ways to get naturally moisturized skin and help cure dry skin problems, is to use natural whole milk. Goat's milk is a great way to heal and rejuvenate your skin, because of it's high calcium and vitamin B2 content. It's also got lots of potassium and protein, and even contains tryptophan! Using goat's milk for your skin can improve not only it's moisture level, but it can also smooth out blotches and prevent and cure discoloration.

To make a goat's milk face mask, you need about 3 tbsp. Goat's milk (I recommend getting it locally, but if you can't, try your local Wholefoods market.), about 1 tbsp. Runny organic honey, and 3 decent sized drops of extra virgin olive oil. (If you have almond oil available, give that a try. It's extra effective on dry skin.) If you not only have dry skin problems, but also blackheads or other similar difficulties, try adding a couple pinches of brown sugar to this face mask. It will help to exfoliate your skin and remove any dirt that your dry skin could be locking into your pores.

You can mix everything together all at once, using your fingers in a small glass bowl. It will mix together easily, and will be easy to put on your skin thanks to the sticky consistency of the honey. Apply all over your face and the dryer areas of your neck, paying extra attention to problem areas and any wrinkles you might have. Once applied, leave it to set about 5 minutes. This mask will not only help moisturize your skin and cure dry skin issues, but it can also help to fix sags and wrinkles that reoccur due to stress or fatigue.

Rinsing with cooler water will leave your skin a bit softer, while rinsing with warmer water will leave it feeling soft but a bit more squeaky clean. You can use this mask often, as it's safe and full of vitamins and other goodies that keep your skin healthy and naturally moisturized.
