Grammy Party Must Haves:
On your invitation have the time set an hour before the Grammy Awards start so that everyone arrives accordingly and on time to watch the Grammys take place.
If you're having a Grammy Award party the first thing that you need to do is get a red carpet! This is inexpensive, and very easy to get. If you go to your local Wal-Mart, or fabric store you can find velvet fabric. Get just enough velvet fabric that will cover up the start of your front door to the end of your doorstep, or your driveway depending on how much you want to spend.
On a long table set up card board boxes and have questions like, "Who do you think will win best new artist of the year?" The categories will be easy to find online so it will be really simple to go online and print out these questions and place them on the box. Have each guest when they walk in put in who they think will win from the nominations. If they win give away champagne glasses, money, ties, fun things that resemble the Grammys.
The h'ordeurves need to small finger food that's not greasy, healthy foods. The guests will be wearing their best red carpet attire and they need foods that will not mess up their attire. Good food to have would be cold shrimp cocktails, grilled chicken on skewers, veggies with different dressings, caramel popcorn, cold cut platter, cheese platter, mini chicken burgers, olives, crackers, cheese spread, chocolate cookies, and a fruit platter. This is a list of ideas that I came up with, but I am sure that there are more things that you could get.
After the h'ordeurves are done you can have a buffet style dinner. If you just set up the plates at the front of the buffet line with napkins, forks, knives and spoons they will serve themselves. This will allow you to go and mingle with your guests while they are there.
This is a great time to take advantage of the Grammy Awards, and it is also a great time to break out your new suit, or little black dress! Make this a fun occasion, and even try to incorporate the kids to make it a yearly tradition.
The 2009 Grammy Awards will be held on February 8th, 2009, and will be broadcasted on CBS.
