The key thing to note when making printed invitations for a green or ecofriendly party is that the invitations should fit the Earth Day theme. This means you should use ecofriendly materials in your party invitations such as recycled or other natural paper, soy ink, and natural decorations like flowers, twigs, and leaves.
The most obvious color to use for your Earth Day party invitations is green, though you can use two sheets of paper and have the background page be either green or another color found in nature. You want your materials to be ecofriendly so try to use recycled paper and remind your guests to recycle their invitations. You can also use flowerseed paper and your guests can plant their party invitations for an ecofriendly Earth Day treat. You can even use treeless paper or recycle old cards or invitations for the party, which is very green indeed. If you're using decorations on your party invitations, remember that they should fit the green theme. Green or natural materials with ecofriendly production practices are a definite plus. When considering ribbons, for example, linen and cotton are natural, whereas acrylic and rayon are not.
In fact, it's quite easy to put together an ecofriendly party invitation by grabbing soy ink, a calligraphy pen, a sheet of recycled paper, an old holiday card, and a ribbon. Put the holiday card on the back and lay a slightly smaller sheet of paper on the front. Tie them together with ribbon punched through two holes at the top, and write out your party invitation on the light-colored paper. Quick and easy, and Earth Day friendly. If you're looking for something with a little more kick, it's always a good base to start with.
Make sure to only purchase supplies you need and will use to prevent waste. This is a good and green rule on Earth Day as well as every day. If you know you're only making a certain number of party invitations, try to stick within that number when buying supplies. It's good to be green. Happy Earth Day and don't forget to send me an invitation to your ecofriendly party!
