DIY Halloween 2010 Costume Ideas, the Social Network & Facebook Account

You'll Deserve Some Recognition from These Social Network Halloween Costumes

Lori Lane
The Social Network can assist in connecting with a great Halloween costume idea. Beginning with Mark Zuckerberg, the founder portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg, then into Sean Parker, portrayed by Justin Timberlake, as the end brings you closer to the Facebook Halloween costume. First, I give you The Social Network Halloween costume idea.

The Social Network Halloween Costume Idea

Mark Zuckerberg, the modest straight talker, wears a light gray hooded sweatshirt with, or without, the word GAP on the front. If the weather deems cold wear a light blue t-shirt under a gray sweatshirt that zippers. The pants should be dark blue jeans and sneakers, Converse approved. Zuckerberg sports a short semi-messy hairstyle, nothing flat. His eyebrows go up into a point formation as they are medium bushy. You can reach that look with a touch of an eyebrow pencil. Use a laptop, or "prop-top", where you can sit on Facebook all night long to connect the prop to character.

Words to identify this costume? That depends on the moment. Sentences such as "people want to go on the internet and check out their friends so why not build a website that offers them friends, pictures, profiles. I'm talking about taking the entire social experience (skip the mention of college) and putting it online" or "I got 22,000 hits within a few hours" prove good. Another nice The Social Network line is "I believe I deserve some recognition from this board." You can have a lot of fun with this one all night! Just talk the computer social network talk and walk the 500 million friend walk. Don't forget to exaggerate the character, brings out the fun side. But who could join to create a duo?

Sean Parker, a greedy, vindictive, calculating "friend" was portrayed by Justin Timberlake. The short hairstyle of this character is not slicked back wet, but dry. The Halloween costume can either include a red t-shirt under a hooded long sleeve dark colored jacket (light color on the inside) and jeans or a black t-shirt under a black blazer and jeans. Phrase that identifies this character? "A million dollars isn't cool, want to know what's cool? A billion dollars." Boast dashingly, giving up is not an option. And when exiting the Halloween party, where appropriate, kiss your fingers and wave good bye.

Outside of The Social Network we step into the "other" social network Halloween costume idea. I now give you the walking Facebook account.

Facebook Account Halloween Costume Idea

Gather a white long sleeved shirt, white pants, a blue hat to match the blue shoes (shoes optional). Use washable white paint and write the words "Home", "Profile", and "Account" on the hat, not in a pyramid fashion, side by side. Take a washable black marker and write "Add Friend", "News Feed", "Top News", "Most Recent", "Chat", and all of the words you can find on your Facebook account, including "Photos" on the front and back of the white shirt without writing on the arm sections. Cover that shirt with Facebook words!

Gather at least 10 photos of family, friends, or co-workers. So that you do not destroy the photos completely use small safety pins and pin the very edges of the photos to the arms going down. Space them out so that each arm has photos spread out. Take the washable black marker and write a caption under each photo, be creative. Then take the washable black marker and write sayings going down your legs in a post fashion. These are the posts on your Facebook. Don't be bashful, compliment yourself or spoof a worthy team. Don't forget to post whether or not you're "Single" or "In a relationship" on the backside. What to do with your face? Face it, you're Facebook. Use safe washable white face paint and color your face white. "Face" goes on one cheek, "book" on the other. Welcome to your social network of Facebook.

When others talk to you it's either"Accept" or "Ignore" in this network splash at that Halloween bash.
