It is a wonderful thing to see especially if you have a wood floor that is perfectly polished. A lot of homeowners would like to have beautiful wood flooring, but they think that it is such as very difficult task to achieve, not to mention that it takes a lot of effort and time. Actually, with a simple trick, you can already have that wood flooring that you have always been dreaming of. Most of the tools that you will need can be rented at a local do-it-yourself center, so you don't have to worry about those things anymore. All you need are the materials to install your wood flooring.

The first step is to prepare for the flooring. You need to remove the existing flooring in your house, until the subflooring is exposed. You need to pull out any of the remaining nails, glue, or staples on the subflooring. Large holes or gaps should also be filled.

The existing baseboard on the room should be removed when you will install the wood flooring; however, you need to save it for reinstallation, or unless you will be purchasing a new baseboard.

Prior to installing the wood flooring, you have to ensure that there is already no debris so that your new flooring will perfectly fit.

You need to cut down the felt underlayment and staple it to the subfloor. In order to hold the felt in place, you can use a few additional staples.

You have to look for the floor joists because this is where you will be attaching your flooring. You can find it by knocking on the floor until you will hear a distinct solid sound. Typically, the floor joists would run on either 16-24 inch centers. Once you have found the floor joists, you might want to run a chalk line as your guide.

Start laying down the first piece of your wood flooring on the longest wall that is perpendicular to the floor joists. Over every joist, you will be inserting a nail through the use of a floor nail gun; however, you should be very careful not to let off the nail your wood flooring's surface.

Add the planks of wood flooring following the same instructions. In case the planks would overlap, you may cut it down as necessary.

When all the planks are assembled and placed properly on your floor, you can already polish and clean your wood flooring as desired.
