Non-Toxic, Chemical Free, Green Window Cleaner
To make a chemical free window cleaner that will leave a streak free shine on the glass throughout your home you will need a spray bottle, a safe for the environment green liquid detergent, some water and white distilled vinegar. Create a spray using approximately 2 and a half cups of water, 2-3 tablespoons of white vinegar, and half a teaspoon of liquid detergent. Combine these ingredients in the spray bottle and shake to mix.
Spray window cleaner directly on the surface and then wipe clean with a paper towel or newspaper. For ultimate streak free shine on the windows I recommend using old newspaper--this is a great way to recycle too!
Non-Toxic, Chemical Free, Green All-Purpose Cleaner for Countertops
To make chemical free all purpose cleaner that is perfect for cleaning countertops and appliances throughout the kitchen you will need a clean spray bottle, washing soda, and liquid soap. Place into the spray bottle about 2-3 cups of hot tap water, a drop or two of liquid soap and about 1 teaspoon of washing soda. Shake the mixture vigorously until the ingredients have dissolved.
Spray the green all purpose cleaner directly onto the surface of countertops or appliances and then wipe clean with a wet sponge. This cleaner is perfectly safe for use around food surfaces and will not leave a harmful residue the way antibacterial detergents purchased from the store can do.
Non-Toxic, Chemical Free, Green Bathroom Shower and Tub Cleaner
Baking soda, some liquid detergent and a bit of water will create the perfect (and completely green) bathroom tub and shower cleaner. Simply mix together in a bowl about a cup of baking soda with 3-5 tablespoons of liquid soap. The mixture should become creamy and easy to spread. You may need to add more soap or a bit of water to get the cleaner to the desired consistency.
Using a sponge, scoop up some of the tub and shower cleaner out of the bowl and spread onto the surface to be cleaned. The baking soda creates a textured scrub that won't scratch porcelain or tile surfaces yet will break up soap scum and grime. Scrub with a sponge and rinse with warm water for a sparkling green bathroom shine!
Non-Toxic, Chemical Free, Green Furniture Polish
Furniture polish can be made with just two ingredients that are sure to be found in the home--lemon juice and olive oil! In a small glass jar, combine 1 teaspoon of olive oil with half a cup of lemon juice. Place a lid on the jar and shake the mixture vigorously.
To use the green furniture polish, all you have to do is dab a soft cloth into the mixture and rub onto your wood furniture. The polish will leave a nice shine on the furniture and won't leave behind any waxy residue the way that many store purchased furniture polishes do. This polish will leave your home smelling lemony fresh too!
