DIY Spooky Green Halloween Crafts

Halloween is without a doubt one of the greatest holidays. Dressing up in crazy costumes, getting candy, and no need to buy presents are just some of the things that make Halloween great. It's all about fun and games on Halloween, making it a favorite for kids and adults alike.

Halloween is also great time to engage in some serious crafting. With a little imagination and Halloween spirit you can craft a costume or turn your entire house into a haunted mansion. Best of all, you can make some spooky Halloween decorations with things you already have lying around the house. This not only saves you money, it also helps the environment.

Spooky Green Halloween Craft #1: Dryer vent pumpkin.

A dryer vent pumpkin is actually a great craft for kids around 9 or 10 years old. All you need is a white dryer vent, some orange spray paint, silk ivy from your local craft store, 2 twist ties, scissors, and some wire cutters. With careful adult supervision you could even do this craft with smaller children. For complete and easy to follow instructions on how to make an adorable dryer vent pumpkin visit DLTK Holiday Crafts.

Spooky Green Halloween Craft #2: Black cat and spooky witch spoon puppets.

If you have a couple of old wooden spoons lying around you can give them new life by turning them into spooky cat puppets. You can also turn them into witch puppets and put on a show for the neighborhood kids. For complete instructions visit Activity Village.

Spooky Green Halloween Craft #3: Cornhusk witch.

Another great thing about Halloween is that you can find autumn crafting supplies just by walking outside or going to a farmers market. For example, it is already known that corn husks are great for making dolls or Christmas angels. This Halloween give a corn husk a new twist by making a witch doll. For complete instructions visit Disney's Family Fun.

Spooky Green Halloween Craft #4: Crocheted Yogurt cup treat basket.

Yogurt cup treat baskets are great for kids and those who enjoy crocheting. You or the kids can crochet the basket and then the kids can decorate it with whatever they please. Once that is done all you have to do is slip a yogurt cup into the basket for support. For instructions and pictures visit My Recycled Bags.

If you don't have yogurt cups paint cans also make great baskets.

Spooky Green Halloween Craft #5: Creepy milk jug windsock witch.

If you need something creepy to decorate your house try making a windsock witch out of a milk jug. All you need is a milk jug, some plastic bags, and stuff you have lying around the house. You can also switch it up and make a ghost. This great craft is surprisingly creepy and weather proof for outside use. For instructions visit Thrifty Fun.

This Halloween think twice about buying brand new decorations. With some creativity and things you have lying around the house you can make some great spooky crafts, save money, and help the planet.
