DIY Pedestal Sink Materials:
Pedestal Sink
Tile Bit
Drill
Plumber's Putty
DIY Pedestal Sink Step 1: Begin by taking out all of the parts of the pedestal sink from the packaging box. Install the faucet and tighten the faucet into place from underneath the sink.
DIY Pedestal Sink Step 2: Once you have tightened the faucet, you will attach the supply lines and the valve stems. The valve stems will attach underneath the pedestal sink and they will screw into place. The water supply lines should then attach onto the valve stems. Use Plumber's Tape and apply it to the joint in which the water supply lines will tighten together. Use a wrench to tighten the supply lines in place for both hot and cold water.
DIY Pedestal Sink Step 3: Using some plumber's putty, create a long worm like roll of putty that will wrap around the plate for the drain of the sink. This will form a seal to prevent leakage from the drain of the sink.
DIY Pedestal Sink Step 4: The drain stem should thread through the bottom of the sink. It will attach to the drain plat from underneath the pedestal sink.
DIY Pedestal Sink Step 5: Using a level, determine where you want the sink to be placed in the bathroom and mark the area with a pencil. The back side of the pedestal sink will have two holes for anchor screws in which you can mark the correct spot on the wall of the bathroom.
DIY Pedestal Sink Step 6: Using the drill and a tile bit, drill the two holes for the pedestal sink to be anchored.
DIY Pedestal Sink Step 7: Place the bolts into the sink and through to the wall where you drilled the holes. Secure the sink into place using a wrench to tighten the bolts into place. Caulk or silicone can also be used to allow for a secure fitting sink that will not shift or move.
DIY Pedestal Sink Step 8: Enjoy your new bathroom pedestal sink which takes up less space than a vanity and sink!
