Wallpaper is one of the things you can add to make a room look more classy and can also bring trend and a vocal point to your room. The market of wallpaper has come a long way and new materials and types of wallpaper hit the stores all the time. Some of the new types of wallpapers are vinyl wallpaper, foil wallpaper, flock wallpaper, grass cloth, fabric wallpaper and even wallpapers made out of silk and different leathers have been seen. Many wallpapers now a days, like vinyl wallpaper which is most commonly sold in hardwood and paint stores, comes with an adhesive back and it is a lot easier to install than common wall paper.

Tools you will need to hang wallpaper:

Before you buy your tools you need to decide what kind of wallpaper you are using. For adhesive, also called pre-pasted wallpaper, you will need a water box or pan, newspaper, utility and trimming knife, scissors, wallpaper brush and sponge.

1. Roll out your adhesive paper on the floor or a working table and measure it to 4 inches longer than what your wall is, you will need the 4 extra inches for a perfect finish fit in both ends. Either use scissors or a utility knife.

2. Fold out newspapers on the floor, fill your water box or pan two-thirds full of water. Now roll the wallpaper so the adhesive side is on the outside, soak the wallpaper in the water by holding the top of the paper and wait for about 30 to 60 seconds, take the paper from the water and either put it back on the table (if you are using a table) or arrange it straight on the wall. You should still be able to move it.

3. The wallpaper should be placed about an inch from each corner and you should leave some overlap in top and bottom, you will trim the wallpaper later for a perfect fit. When the wallpaper is where you want it to be, use your wallpaper brush and brush first at the top. Move towards the middle and brush towards the edges of the paper, and then brush up and down, making sure you leave no air bubbles or wrinkles. Now you can use your trimming knife to trim the bottom and top. Use a sponge to clean up any extra adhesive.

4. Now you are ready to hang the second piece of wallpaper, make sure the pattern matches up to the one already hanging, roll it out and see if it's a good fit pattern wise, and start the water process over again.
