I'm "knots" about you wreath
Materials
plastic foam tray (like meat comes on)
scrap fabrics in red, pink and white
lace
scissors
hot glue gun
Directions
To make the wreath base, cut out a large heart from a plastic foam tray. Draw a smaller heart inside the large heart and cut out the smaller heart. Be careful not to split or tear the outline. You want to use the outline of the heart with the center cut out.
Cut your scrap fabrics into strips that are about ½ inch wide and about 5 inches long. Tie the fabric strips in half knots around the heart base until it is covered. You want the fabric knots close together so that no base is showing. Use alternating colors to make a pleasing pattern.
Glue a lace bow to the front of the heart wreath and glue a length of lace to the back to use as a hanger.
Hang the wreath on your door or wall for some extra pretty Valentine's Day decorating!
Rainbow Hearts Hanger
Materials
Black construction paper
Colored construction paper
string or yarn
scissors
hot glue gun
Directions
Cut a heart shaped pattern out of black paper. Cut a smaller heart out of the center of the black heart. Cut out 12 of these black heart borders for each hanger you wish to make.
Cut out hearts from the colored papers. These hearts should be able to be glued between two of the border hearts. Not as large as the larger side but larger than the inside. Cut out 6 different colored hearts.
Glue the six colored hearts between the border hearts along with the string running from one heart to the next. Leave a longer piece of string coming out of the top heart.
Hang the string of colored hearts from the ceiling. You can make as many of these as you like to decorate for Valentine's Day!
Heart Shaped Coasters
Materials
Clear plastic lid
waxed paper
fabric glue
red, white or pink yarns
scissors
Directions
Cut a heart shape out of the clear plastic lid. You want this large enough to use as a coaster. Place the plastic heart on a piece of waxed paper.
Squeeze fabric glue around the outer edge of the heart and press a long piece of yarn into the glue. Continue to add more glue and yarn until the entire heart is filled in. Make patterns or use all one color.
Let dry overnight before using. Put these out for your family and guests to use as coasters and as decorations for Valentine's Day!
