DIY Valentine's Gift

Maricruz
Valentine's is a day to be romantic and give a gift of love. I am here to help you with a simple do it yourself gift for that special someone. I love to go shopping for different items that I know I can fix myself and give it a touch of creativity. I usually buy things at garage sales or thrift store's, you can use whatever you think will work for this particular project. I bought a small jewelry box which cost me $1.00 at a thrift store. I already has some craft paint but you can buy these at any craft store for a fair price. The next thing you need to do is try and figure out what you want the jewelry box decorated as. I found a picture of a heart and a key and thought it would look nice. Once you have the picture you want to use get all your items on a table you can paint on and we can begin the steps.

What you will need:
Small jewelry box
Craft paint ( Color black, red and purple)
Small paint brush
Black small tip permanent marker

We will begin painting the box, paint the entire box purple. You can paint it however you'd like, I used different brush strokes for a different finish. Once it is dry paint the corner edges of the top part of the jewelry box red. Also paint the big heart , you can paint the heart in the middle or the side, whichever you'd prefer. Wait for the paint to dry and then you can draw the key with the black marker. I went online and found some love quotes and wrote different quotes all over the box. You can add any other details you would like on the box. Wait for it to dry and you are done!

You can place a small gift inside the jewelry box, a bracelet or some earrings. This box is something unique and because it was made by you it has more value than any other gift. Dedicating your time and love to create something for the person you love is a great thing and I am positive the recipient will love it.

I hope you enjoy making this project and try to make it your own unique design when decorating it.
