Make the Dress
1. The first thing that you need to do is get a t-shirt that you like. If you want to change the color of your shirt to make it look different from your shirt. Just get dye from your local craft store and change the color. When you are picking out a shirt get a shirt that is a good length (doesn't go out and get a baby tee and expect it to fit).
2. Cut off the collar of your t-shirt. By cutting off the collar you can make straps to your dress.
3. Cut off the arms of your shirt and fold in the sides so that it starts to take the form of a dress. After you fold up the sides, sew it. Only sew the sides of the t-shirt.
4. Take the arms that you cut off and sew it to the front of your t-shirt. Only sew the sleeves to the front part of your dress not the back (if you sew the back you won't be able to get into your dress.
5. The collar that you cut off from the t-shirt is needed to make the straps for your dress. Get you're the sleeves that you have formed to cover up your front parts and sew the straps at a comfortable, reasonable and nice look.
6. Use the buttons, ribbons and iron on pictures to make your dress look more vintage. This is great for you girls that love looking vintage.
7. Use tie- dye and get creative with the eighties
After the Dress is Made
1. You can make a lot of really different styles when you get different types of shirts
2. You can discover the things that you like, and do it more often
3. You can also learn certain styles that are in and get ideas from the internet and start making your dresses more legitimate
4. If you do a good job, who knows, you could manufacture your vintage dresses!
5. It all takes time and practice to get things right
