WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
1 Inexpensive Art Canvas Size Of Your Choice
Large Motif Fabric (make sure you buy only enough to be able to cut just a few motifs)
Back round Fabric Contrasting To Your Motifs (purchase enough to cover your entire canvas)
Staple Gun And Staples
Fusible Webbing (just enough to cover all the backs of your motifs)
Iron
Small Beads/Crystals.
1Eyelet Needle (if sewing is not your thing try using super glue and two pointed wooden skewers)
Thread
Scissors
First step is to take your back round fabric and lay it face down on a flat surface. Next lay your canvas face down on top of fabric. Your fabric should be cut a 1/2 inch bigger on all four sides. Start by pulling up the fabric starting in the middle at the top, fold over to the back of the canvas and staple into the wood. Now the bottom middle, being sure you get it pulled tightly, and staple. Next the middle side, fold over fabric and staple. Now the other side, pulling tightly. Now go over the entire perimeter of the canvas and fold and staple the reamaining fabric. Once done turn face up.
Take your scissors and the large motif fabric and carefully cut out your motifs trying to stay steady around the lines. Once they are all cut out, take your iron and double fusible webbing , lay your motifs face down then your fusible web over the back of fabric and iron. Fusible webbing also helps in the prevention of fraying. Take your scissors and cut off the excess webbing in the same manor of the motifs.
Place your motifs on top of the canvas in a design you are most happy with. Iron down.
Thread your needle and double knot. Now starting from the back of the canvas insert needle close to the edge of the motif add a bead and go back down. Come back up following the outline of your motif again, add a bead and go back down. Repeat until all outlines are finished with beads. Now say your motif is a flower, try adding some beads in the center. If you are not happy about sewing you can always use super glue and two pointed wood skewers to place the beads down.
There are many wonderful large motif fabrics out there to choose from. From black and white portraits to the Eiffel Tower. Its what ever you feel would be a unique asset to your home decor.
