DJ K-Swift, Club Queen, Has Died

Rosa Hayes
DJ K-Swift has died at the age of 28, drowning in a pool after sustaining head injuries. K-Swift was reported to have died at the Good Samaritan Hospital, according to AllHipHop. K-Swift's MySpace page says it all with heart felt messages from dear friends and fans that will truly miss her, after all; she was known as Club Queen of Baltimore.

There have been many DJs who have died over the past few years that will be remembered for a long time to come. There have also been many famous rappers and bands that sung to the music that DJ K-Swift often played that have died. Taking a look back these are some of the few that are remembered the most.

In October of 2004, legendary radio DJ John Peel died from a heart attack while on a vacation in Peru with his wife. Peel was 65 at the time of his death. Peel was BBC Radio's 1's longest serving DJ. Peel was also one of the first DJs to ever seek out exposure for punk, reggae and hip-hop, before this type of music was ever put into the mainstream. John Peel was legendary just like DJ K-Swift.

Some people will remember "Screwed up Click" as some of the best performing artist and others will remember them for the string of deaths that their group had. There were a total of eighteen members of the Screwed Up Click and out of those six have died. The deaths of the six members have started rumors of a curse being on the group and those that enter may not make it through it alive. Screwed Up Click often performed the same type of music that DJ K-Swift would often play.

On December 29, 2007, reports of DJ Kevin Greening's death came out. The way that he was found deceased stirred up a lot of controversy over who this DJ really was. It was on his 45th birthday when police found him in a black leather sling attached to scaffolding inside of Sean Griffin's flat. The coroner has said that Greening was dead after indulging in unorthodox sex that involved restraint and illegal drugs. There were traces of cocaine, ecstasy, and GHB found in Greenings system at the time of death.

It is sad when someone as special as these people have died. K-Swift was a legendary DJ since she had actually brought women into this business and made a statement for herself. Each one of these groups and DJs had done something special for us to remember them and they will be forever mourned by the fans and family.

K swift was a dear friend to the whole Baltimore community, you couldn't help but to feel something when you heard the news. She was so real on the radio, nothing phoney. I never met her, but its really and truly like missing a special someone whom you're so used to hearing on the radio. When i saw a documentary on MTV about the club scene in Baltimore, they had Kswift on it, I was so proud. She really made club music travel far, I heard it down in Georgia and Virginia and PA, almost everywhere I go, they play some sort of club mix, I'm proud that she made it to be the best thing possible. Whoever takes her place, I hope they can measure up to all that she's done. I really miss her, I really do. Its painful to hear of a death, even though death is normal now, it always hurts when it happens.
