Do You Believe in Guardian Angels?

Do you believe in guardian angels? There are over 2,400,000 hits on google.com for guardian angel. There have been numerous books written about guardian angels through out the centuries. Do they really exist or are they in our minds eye? Why do they appear to some and not to others? No one can answer these questions with a straight and honest answer. The closest answer any of us can come to is in the bible. The bible speaks of stories of angles appearing and helping, sent by God. So does God send angels, today?

Some people believe angels are only here for the ones that believe and did you know that 69 percent of Americans believe in angels. The Merrian-Webster dictionary defines a guardian angel as - "an angel believed to have special care of a particular individual." On answers.com they define a guardian angel as - "a spirit who protects and guides a particular person." The spirit is defined as - "The soul, considered as departing from the body of a person at death." So basically a guardian angel is a spirit of a person that has died and watches over us living on earth. Now do you believe?

If you are among the 69 percent that do believe in guardian angels then you probably have had an experience with your guardian angel sometime in your life. The 69 percent that do believe also believe that every person has at least one guardian angel watching over them at all times. The other 31 percent that don't believe probably haven't had anything happen in their lives that would call for a guardian angel or they just don't believe in something that they can't see.

I have never had an experience with my guardian angel, wherever my angel is but I do believe in guardian angels and this is why:

About 12 years ago my grandparents lived in Phoenix, Arizona. My grandfather was having surgery and my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. We lived in Wichita, Kansas so my mother had to fly to Phoenix to take care of my grandmother while my grandfather was in the hospital.

During the time my mother was there she had to take her brother to the airport to catch a plane. Now coming from a small city my mother wasn't use to all the traffic and the freeways. As she was driving home, on the freeway, she was driving my grandparents car, the car started to act up so as she took an exit ramp the car just quit on her. She was able to coast to the end of the ramp but couldn't get it off onto the shoulder. As she got out of the car, and by the way she had no idea where she was and there were no cars around at this time, she turned around and two men were standing right behind her.

They very kindly helped her push the car onto the shoulder of the road and when she turned to thank them they were gone. She looked around for them, thinking that they were just walking on but no one was there. It was like they just vanished. Now remember, no cars were on this road, no one was around at all. She got back in the car, tried to start it, it started right up so she was able to drive home.

Ten years ago my father went into have a routine physical. The doctor had him on the treadmill, monitoring his heart rate. The doctor said there was just a little glitch on the strip but was probably nothing. So he told my dad they were finished and he started to leave the room when all the sudden he turned around and said we better check into this glitch. Come to find out, this little glitch was from the main artery behind the heart that usually is never caught. The doctor sent my father into the hospital the next morning and by afternoon they were doing emergency open-heart surgery. The doctor told us all that if they hadn't of checked on this my dad would have had a massive heart attack within the week and died instantly.

This just happened to be the week that my parents were helping my brother and his wife move to Virginia so my dad would of probably been on the highway driving a moving truck when this could of happened.

The doctor said he didn't know why he all the sudden decided to run the test. He said it was like someone told him. My grandmother had just passed away several months before so I, and the rest of the family believe that she was the one that saved my dads life. My grandmother was my dad's guardian angel.

Now do you believe in Guardian Angels? I do!

There have been a couple incidences with my kids when it seemed like there must have been an angel helping out. Like when my middle child was like 3 years old, and climbed to the top of the stairs. He saw me at the bottom of the stairs and decided that he was going to jump to me. I am talking about a tall flight of stairs here. Somehow I managed to get to the perfect spot on the stairs and caught him in midair, and didn't lose my balance or anything, I honestly don't know how I was able to do that, I think someone may have been helping me to save my child.
