I have heard Heaven described as a buffet filled with all of the pleasures any man, woman, or child can imagine. I have heard folks talk about endless golf courses, fishing holes so full of fish they jump into the boat, concerts with Beethoven, Bach and the Beetles, every pleasure known to human beings has been attributed to Heaven. Still I have found no proof as to what is the real story and what is the illusion.
My first thoughts of Heaven are from my human experiences. The ultimate pleasure of love making with the woman of my dreams. The joy of the birth of a child. The excitement of seeing my son break through the huge line and make a game saving tackle. The pride of seeing my daughter waving the flag, leading the marching band across the field. The special feeling of my youngest daughter crossing the stage @ graduation, stopping and turning to the audience to give us the angel sign from the "Angels in the Outfield" movie. That is how I pictured the emotions of my Heaven until 1998 when I had my encounter with the reality of Heaven.
This is not proof of Heaven only what I experienced and how I felt the day I died. I've heard this event described as a near death experience. I will leave the political correctness to you. I can only tell you what I remember and how I felt. You decide if it is Heaven or just an illusion of my mind.
I was having a triple bi-pass surgery and they had stopped my heart to make the repairs. Some time during this surgery I had the following experience. I felt warm and wrapped in love kind of like that special moment just before orgasm. I was floating towards a bright light. I wanted to stay here forever. A deep voice with a Southern Drawl spoke kindly to me. "You can not stay today. You have a job to complete. You will return here soon." I then felt the electric shock re-start my heart.... I thought the pain of the heart attack was difficult to handle, this was more intense.
I still don't know if they have a Prime Rib and Seafood Buffet in Heaven. I can't confirm that Beethoven plays Polka music. I'm not sure if the ski slopes are unending. I can only tell you I believe there is a Heaven. I believe there is chocolate in Heaven. I also believe that I will be there eventually. In God's time not mine.... Mizpah ;-}}>

Post a CommentHeaven I believe in, but not the way described by the commenters or in the article. When one gets near death, the body can release chemicals that soften the blow.
Um...okay.
Thanks for sharing your story....I absolutely believe in Heaven, and I think we cannot even begin to imagine how wonderful it is.
Heaven is GREATER than we can imagine and I can imagine a great deal... so I am looking forward to arriving there one day
I believe in Heaven like Janet does. Sometimes I've felt like it was here on Earth. Great writing!

Great article Alban!
There most definitely is a Heaven. And when you get there, God has provided everything we have ever desired in multiples. You can eat all the chocolate you want without having to worry about weight gain. You can enjoy all the beauty of theis world and more. I have had revelations of Heaven. The experience is so intense, the heart I have in this body can only handle the love for seconds. Any more than that will be too much to handle. Heaven is awesome and one day if we abide by the Lords will and have accepted His Son as our Savior, we will get there.
