Do You Believe in UFOs?

Imagine gazing at the night sky, appreciating the quietness of your country surroundings, when all of a sudden, you see something usual in the sky. You stare more intensely, trying to figure out if it is just an airplane; yet, you see it is just hovering above. Back in the mid 1960s, when I was around 12, I saw an object like this. My object was located in a small country town called Coloma, Michigan. And as quickly as I saw it, as quickly it was gone. Nevertheless, I never forgot it.

Back in 1950s-1960s we were really involved with questioning the existence of UFOs. I can remember many B movies that were made about this subject - from robots to Flash Gordon. The country was so infatuated with the idea of someone from another world (Martians to be exact) coming to the United States and saying, "Take me to your leader." So when I saw that mysterious object, I too wondered if it was one of these UFOs and it stayed suppressed in my memory - until I read Shirley MacLaine's book, "Sage-ing While Age-ing."

Shirley's book covers many unexplained phenomenons - past lives, spirituality, holistic health, to ..yes, UFOs. What caught my attention the most was how she talks about how our life here on Earth is profoundly threatened due to our own materialistic and mechanistic worldview. She goes on to say that if we suspend our ego-driven belief; that we are the center of the cosmic life in the universe, we might find that there is a connecting principle, a caring link that we have, not to each other, but to a cosmic intelligent beings that we sense are out there, but can't prove it. Yet, she explains that there is documentation our government has been hiding from us for many years.

Official military intelligence policy has been to maintain secrecy of the cosmic visitor presence in any way necessary. Here are some facts she list;

A prominent Pentagon official, Col. Philip Corso, who served in the Eisenhower administration and later headed the Foreign Technology desk in the Army's Research & Development department, publicly revealed in a 1997 book, "The Day After Roswell," that he lead a top secret, clandestine project to reverse engineer E.T. technology recovered from Roswell, New Mexico UFO crash. There was a body armor made out of fiber optics, integrated circuit chips, night-vision equipment, and super-tenacity fibers.

Col. Corso worked with Lt. Gen. Arthur Trudeau in military intelligence for 20 years and buried in his office at the Pentagon were the military's most closely guarded secrets of the Roswell UFO crash, files, the cache of debris, and information an Army retrieval team from the 509th Army Air Field pulled out of the wreckage of a flying disk that crashed outside of Roswell. According to Corso and Trudeau, there were two beings in the craft, described as having small, wiry, trim bodies with eyes that looked like a wrap-around goggles, who communicated telepathically in English with humans who found them.

Several sources reported that soon after Roswell crash in 1947, President Truman issued an executive order to a top-secret committee called the Majestic Twelve to investigate the incident. The Majestic Twelve were originally formed in 1942, and were primarily interested in mind control techniques. After Roswell, the group addressed itself to "InterPlanetary Phenomenon." It was embedded in the Army Intelligence and was said to contain a report by Albert Einstein and Max Oppenheimer on potential relations with E.T races.

There is much more in this book regarding other facts including how all the presidents from Truman to the Clinton were questioning these reports. (I can't recall if President Bush was mentioned, but I'm sure he would have been one to dismiss it - if he was)

For instance, she had a conversation with Jimmy Carter who told her he tried to shed some sunshine laws on military intelligence, when he also saw a UFO craft for himself. He wrote on this encounter when he was a governor. Yet, when he was elected and wanted to pursue it, he was told that such things only on a "need-to know basis" would be given. Even Reagan had seen a craft when he was an actor. Shirley was closed friends with the Reagans. And even Clinton was curious, but when he insisted on knowing more, he too ran into a blank wall with the military. Movie stars like Lucille Ball too saw UFOs.

So, you be the judge whether you believe or not. For me, yes, not only do I believe but I believe we will see them within the next 5 years. I leave you with some personal sightings. Just click on the titles and you might be a believer after all.
