Do You Buy Dog Treats and Dog Toys for You, or for Your Dog?

Marlyn Lopes
How often do we find ourselves buying some dog treats or dog toys that we think our pet is going to like, only to have these same dog treats and dog toys sitting in the same place you put them the day you brought them home. Much like people, dogs like dog treats that pleasure the palette and dog toys that keep them captivated. Dog treats should have a flavor, more than the cardboard flavor that much of these dog treats offer. Dog toys should be fun, actually having a noticeable difference between a dog toy and a piece of wood, or a rock. The dog treats and dog toys you get for your dog will, in the end, show your fun-loving, furry friend just how much you actually love them.

What kind of dog treats do you get for your dog? Does your dog actually enjoy the dog treats that you get for your dog? Of course, dogs will, for the most part, eat whatever is given them, but there is such thing as a "spoiled" dog. The "spoiled" dog is the dog that has experienced a difference in one or more things and has gained a preference for one over the other. Now, if you give your pet dog treats that taste like cardboard, sure, your dog will eat it. But, get your pet dog treats with a real good smell and taste and you'll see and actual difference in their reaction and behavior. Most dog treats claim to have a certain flavor that you're dog will love, but only your dog can and will, actually, determine that for themselves if you give them the chance.

What kind of dog toys do you get for our dog? Does your dog actually enjoy the dog toys that you get for your dog. Sure, your pet will show a sense of interest when they first get a glance of the dog toys you've got for them, but will it keep their attention? There's plenty of dog toys on the market that we think, as a pet owner, will be a lot of fun for our dogs, but most of the time, we base the levels of fun with these dog toys on what we think is fun, not our dogs. Studies have shown that dog toys that make sounds, have certain flavors and even have certain scents to them are the types of dog toys that actually captivate our dogs and keeps their attention for longer periods of time. Of course, the more fun our dogs have, the healthier and happier they are. Much of this health and happiness, then, is produced by the types of dog toys we get for them. So, the next time you decide to buy a dog toy for your dog, buy a dog toy that you're dog will like, not a dog toy that you think your dog will like. After all, this will, inevitably, be determined by just how much you care for your dog and how much fun you actually think your dog deserves, won't it?
