Do Cats Have Nine Lives?

Harry Gunawan
"Do cats have nine lives?"

I recall my foolish day.
Two kittens within my arms;
So warm and fluffy;
I reluctantly put them in the swing;
Made of cloth and thick rope;
Hanging to the ceiling.
I gave the swing a light push;
My sister was excited.
I laughed and pushed it some more.
It moved faster...
The kittens didn't seem to object.
Faster and faster...
Next thing I knew we were petrified.
The kittens glided before our eyes.
A horrifying free fall;
From two stories high.
ALAS!!!
We rushed downstairs screaming;
I think I was crying.
We found them;
Laying on the solid ground.
But to our surprise;
They were fully fine;
No scratches, no bumps!

Now back to the question:
"Do cats have nine lives?"
Maybe;
Maybe the gravity has mercy;
For their airy furry bodies.

Still;
"Do cats have nine lives?"
Well;
I think they (luckily) do;
Have nine chance to live;
A carefree life.

    I have had many a cat that I felt possessed 9 lives indeed. :-)

    Beautiful job, Harry! My kitties sure seem lucky, especially my 15 year old black male Mo (he looks like a little balck panther)!

    Super job! Only question I have is: how much did the stress and trauma of that moment shorten YOUR lifespan? My pets have seriously impacted mine, including one day when a dog fell off the roof (don't ask, I might just take the time to tell you).

    I like this one. From my own experience I would agree because all the screeches I hear in the night from cats outside tell me they are being attacked by something. So LOL I would agree.
