Do Christmas Shopping at Publix, Lighthouse Pt., Florida

You Can Do All Your Christmas Shopping at Your Grocey Store

Susan Antonelli
I was doing food shopping at Publix in Lighthouse Point, Flrida, and I started noticing all sorts of great things to give for Christmas. I picked up the cloth shopping bags for my sister, daughter , hubby (and myself) at .99 each. They come in black or green. They make shopping so much "greener" and easier. I don't have all those silly plastic bags to deal with and I can use this bag either as a gift or a gift bag. I got myself one also. It holds so much more than the plastic and it won't tear like the paper bags.

They sell "cold/hot " bags in wine bottle size and in grocery size. I got the wine size for hubby and I got the cold/hot bags for sister and daughter to keep in their cars. These are great if you do some shopping and aren't going straight home. They will keep your groceries cold or anything you might be bringing to someone's home hot.

You can get gorgeous little boxes of wonderful chocolates for as little as $2.69. Those are nice for gifts. You can buy a bunch of fruit and make your own basket. Throw in some loose nuts.

Our Publix has a rack of gift cards to all sorts of stores and restaurants. You can get a $15.00 gift card to Starbucks, that would be nice for anyone. You can get cards at all different values so you can spend a lot or a little. You could just get a gift card to Publix itself.

My husband always buys quick pick cards to stick in everyones stocking for Christmas morning scratch offs.

Pick up phone cards for kids away at school.

Pick up an oven mitt and stuff it with a few kitchen utensils or a BBQ mitt for a guy and do the same.

Get a magazine and go to MagazinePriceSearch.com and you can get a 20 month or 10 month subscription for as little as $3.00 and change . You could get someone Everyday with Rachel Ray for about that price. Wrap the magazine in ribbon with a note saying "You have a gift subscription". You can get Field & Stream, Outside,Parenting, Yoga Journal, Boating life, Ladies Home Journal or any of a number of good magazines at terrific prices.

Pick up a bag of chocolate chips and a bag of pretzels and make your own chocolate dipped pretzels or get white chocolate chips and candy canes and make white chocolate mint bark.

The cosmetic aisle is full of inexpensive creams and items you can use as stocking stuffers. Get your guy shaving cream, after shave, a shaver and a small towel to wrap them in here.

You can also buy Christmas wrapping paper, gift bags and ribbon here. One stop shopping!

I'm telling you, you can probably get all your shopping done right in Publix.

I love Publix-- don't live in FL but we vacation there a lot and it's so much better than the supermarkets in my area.

You can do this at Pathmark also and probably at most large grocery chains. Walgreens, CVS, all have some super gift items at very reasonable prices. I was just in the ood and in the store

That's really convenient, if only we had one.
