Do You Have a Friend like I Have

I Consider Her Wonder Woman

lori beeler
This article is about one of my friends. This woman is "Wonder Woman". She has two girls both of whom are in college at different colleges. She chairs and runs HopeforHealing.Org which helps victims of domestic violence and provides other services.

Now here is why I am writing about this woman. Just this past weekend she did more than most people will do in one month from driving to Kentucky, back to West Knoxville, and so many other things that it would take a whole page just to tell you about her weekend. Now get this, she called herself a slacker because she did not have time (until after 11:00 p.m. Sunday night) to get on the computer. If she is a slacker then I do not in any way want to know what I am.

This woman has a thrift store, writes for AC, has a website she keeps up to date, does a radio talk show on Mondays and Tuesdays, and numerous other activities. She is constantly multi-tasking.

Yet, this woman still has and finds the time to spend with her family. And also, she always puts others ahead of herself. If you need something, she is going to find a way to get it for you no matter what. She is always true to her word. If she sets an appointment only a very big emergency can keep her from that appointment, and then she will always try to get someone to go for her (that is not very often).

She never ever gives herself enough credit for all she does. She is so modest it almost makes me mad.

My little boy is now calling her Aunt Gayle. And thanks to Aunt Gayle my little one is more spoiled than ever. Thank you so much, Aunt Gayle.

My husband even asked me the other day if she ever finds time to sleep. I told him yes she does, but it is usually when she is driving. Oops, maybe I should not have told you that one. Just kidding! She is a very good driver also.

This woman very rarely asks for any help. Very rarely does she ever complain or gripe about anything. If it is to be done she does it. She never asks for anything for herself in return.

She has had people to do her wrong in the past, but she never complains about that. She may tell you about it. Yet once she has told you, it is extremely rare for her to mention it again unless it is a good outcome.

I have to thank this woman for getting me started on AC. So, thank you, Gayle.

Thus, I just wanted to take few minutes to say thank you to a friend and to let the world know that there is at least one hard working "Wonder Woman" in this world. And I am so glad to know her.
