Harry Potter has cast a serious spell on audiences with the recent limited re-release of his entire saga. Each film has hit theaters this week in all their wizard glory. While some entries have been stronger than others, it's still been one heck of a ride. Tennessee movie fans have been very vocal on their favorite films and scenes in the wake of this Harry Potter marathon. Just what have they had to say?
"Tom Riddle was an incredible villain. The intrigue and trickery that surrounded him in 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' was so thrilling! I loved the scenes down in the chamber as well as the parts in the Forbidden Forest! That giant spider was epic! It was great to see it all on the big screen since I just saw it on DVD before. If only they'd been in 3D." -- Matthew Hall, 29, Memphis
"The books started out kind of weak, but by the third one the series really picked up. I find it funny that the movies mirror this. It started off strong and got a bit weaker as it went on. I really regretted the diminished stock in character development after 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.' It was nice to see a greater focus on action, but not at the expense of characterization!" -- Stanley Darnell, 35, Memphis
"I adore the books and most of the movies. It was a real treat to see them all in theaters again. I would have liked to see all the films back to back, but I'm aware of how inhuman that would have been. Still, a witch-wannabe can dream, can't she?" -- Mary Shoal, 30, Milington
"While I quite enjoy a good wizard, Harry is not one. Not once did he try to impose spell-backed edicts upon his friends for his amusement. Why undertake such rigorous wizardry training and not force Hermione to bend to his will- literally? The movies just disappoint due to their lack of realistic wizard ambitions. Golden Snitch FTW." -- Jeremy Morgan, 30, Arlington
"The first few films were marred by the need to spoon feed muggles the basics. It's a real shame because so many awesome scenes from the books had to get cut just so non-readers could see chocolate frogs jump around and random conversations establishing background. I realized 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' was the guiltiest of this after watching it again this week." -- Karen Michaels, 43, Frasier
"What a stupid series. I went to each re-release and hated each one more than the last. Fail wizards are fail. 'Twilight' is the only real fantasy movie worth seeing. Team Jacob forever!" -- Amanda Horner, 45, Collierville
"I was really impressed watching some of the Harry Potter films for the second time. They really got the characterization down nicely. Ron acted just right in most of the films, as did Malfoy. They did a great job embodying the spirits of their characters. Hagrid deserves special credit too for that matter. Sirius could have used some work in retrospect though. They were a little too generous with the crazy with him. More rogue, less maniac would have been better." -- Lenard Ripple, 31, Cordova
"I still remember reading the books back in high school. I noticed one on the bathroom floor and decided to flip through it. The next thing I knew I'd missed three classes and spent most of my day on the toilet! It was awesome! Good thing I got to see the movies in a big open theater instead of a cramped stall. Then again, they both smelled about the same. To be serious, I just want to say that I really liked 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.' The serious really got exciting with that one, don't you think?" -- Laura Rhen, 20, Memphis
"After watching them all over again, I must say -- All of them should have been split up into two feature films. So many missed opportunities. Whoever planned out 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1,' deserves a medal." -- Arnold Beal, 32, Memphis
