Do Just Women Get Menopause?
Husbands and Wives Take Note and Avoid Many Marital Problems that Have Their Roots in the "Male Menopause"
Sad but true, that menopause is something that women will go though once they reach a certain age. Usually during their late 40's, women begin to experience this condition which is caused becuase their body stops producing hormones. Its also sad but true that most people only ever associate the menopause or this life changing experience as a condition that affects women. But ther is also a male counterpart to the female menopause.
Yes, both men and women experience something very signficant in their 40's. For women its very well known about, and understood. But for men, the menopause is not clearly understood, and is little known about in general. The research and treatments are still being debated.
What we do know is that the male menopause (more accurately called Andropause) is caused by the decrease in production of testosterone. This seems to happen "naturally" as a man reaches the age of 40 and beyond. So because of this "similarity" the male menopause can be compared to its female counterpart. Just consider these symptoms. Men who are experiencing this condition will suffer depression, irritability, tiredness or fatigue. This can be even when walking from the front of the house to the rear garden.
Another symptom common among men is a lack of sexual interest. So the effects of Andropause are felt both by the sufferer and by the immediate family. It is believed that many people who sperated and divorced can trace part of their problems to the "male menopause" and the lack of sexual interest from the husband.
So this is a serious issue. No one doubts that its worth looking at treatments when a woman experiences the menopause, so husbands and wives take note. And take action. Although a man begins to experience this as he reaches a certain age, there is something you can do early on to minimize the effects of male menopause.
As one of the main root causes of Andropause is the decreasing level of testosterone, the most effective treatment that has been found to work is replacing the lost testosterone through TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy). This treatment is readily available, most physicians have experience in prescribing this. Once you begin to receive the treatments you will notice that the symptoms start to go away, your libido returns, your energy and positivity.
You will be less irritable, more interested in your friends and family. Thanks to TRT you will start to enjoy life again. Say goodbye to strained relationships, and start enjoying intimacy with your wife.
So, if you are now experiencing what many people brush off as "a mid-life crisis", it might just be that your testosterone level has something more to do with things. Both men and women need to recognise Andropause is real, it's not only women who suffer the effects of a menopause.
As well as Testosterone Replacement Therapy remember to look at your lifestyle, a change in diet, good exercise and elminating negative thoughts can produce a significant change in both men and women. Above all, don't take this lying down, rather take action and leave the effects of the male menopause.
