Do You Need to Know Exactly Where the Post Office Is?

If you are relatively new to Birmingham, or if you are just visiting, you may not know exactly where to find such places as the post office, city parks, schools and other locations. You can always ask someone for directions, but if you have access to the Internet you can pull up a map for yourself.

The City of Birmingham participates in CityMap, an online mapping service that allows you to type in a particular location, then click on the "Update the Map" button. You are then shown a map of cross streets, surrounding streets and nearby locations such as fire departments that are close to your desired destination. In addition, block and street numbers are shown so you can use them for guidance.
