If you have fillings, you may have mercury in those fillings! One-hundred and fifty years-ago dentists found an amalgam that was much cheaper than using silver. This mixture consists of 45% to 52% mercury, 30% silver with trace amounts of zinc, copper and tin.
The ADA, American Dental Association is the promulgator of this formula and each year implants one-hundred million mercury-containing amalgams into children and adults. Now, early on dentists were aware of the toxicity of mercury and even banned dentists who used it. But as time went on, so many dentists were using the formula that the original association collapsed and rogue dentists organized a new one.
Since the issue of toxicity did not entirely go away, the association released a cover-up, telling people the mercury was not released because it stayed safely locked inside the filling. Even other dentists were sold this story, and everything went along as usual.
It was just recently that the lie was crushed by overwhelming evidence that the element was released in a vapor form and that 80% of the mercury vapor was absorbed into the body. In addition, studies show that blood levels of mercury rise several times higher when people with amalgam fillings chew or drink hot liquids. Tests done showed that there was a doubling of mercury in people with amalgam fillings.
There are three forms of mercury: metallic, or the metal
inorganic, like mercuric chloride or mercuric sulfate
organic, such as methyl mercury and ethyl mercury.
Ionic mercury has much evidence on the scales as the most harmful form. Ionic mercury is the most difficult to remove from the brain. It, in fact, stays there permanently. Authorities consider mercury vapor, from amalgam fillings, and organic mercury from fish and vaccines to be the major sources of the substance in our body. A number of studies have shown that all these forms are converted into ionic mercury within the tissues, especially in the brain.
Levels of exposure to mercury vary with people. Some states have high atmospheric mercury, and add to this eating seafood and receiving vaccines and a person may have a very high level of toxicity.
In part two of this report we will look at specific consequences of being exposed to mercury, as well as the ramifications of exposure.
