Do You Know Where These Famous Treasures Are Located Today?

Almost everyone has heard of the following 10 treasures (in no particular order of importance). Many are considered to be priceless icons of our worldwide civilization. Can you go a step further? Do you know where each of these treasures is kept? (The answers can be found at the end of the list!)

1. The Rosetta Stone: Discovered in Egypt in 1799, this tablet has the same writing in three languages; ancient Greek, hieroglyphics, and demotic. It is considered a bridge between ancient and modern languages.

2. The Hope Diamond: Discovered in India in the 17th century, legend has it this 45.52 carat stone of deep blue desire is cursed!

3. The contents of King Tut's tomb: Discovered in Egypt in 1922, these treasures sparked a whole movement in the decorative arts, fashion and jewelry called the Egyptian Revival.

4. The Dead Sea Scrolls: Believed to have been created by an ancient Jewish sect, these scrolls contain much of the old testament of the Bible. Discovery began in 1947 in caves along the northwest shore of the Dead Sea.

5. King Arthur's sword, Excalibur: Legendary sword retrieved by King Arthur from a lake that was supposedly invincible in battle.

6. The Mona Lisa: Painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1506. Who has not seen her smile?

7. The Last Supper: Painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1498: Depicts Jesus sitting at a long dinner table among his disciples, including Judas, the betrayer.

8. The Starry Night" Painted by Vincent Van Gogh in 1889. An unforgettable rendition of huge nebulous, comet-like star clusters in the night sky.

9. The Thinker: A larger than life bronze statue created by Auguste Rodin in 1902. With elbows on knee and chin on his hand, he sits and contemplates the meaning of life and death.

10. The Venus de Milo: A marvelous stone sculpture created in the 2nd century B.C. by an unknown artist. Her arms were never found!
