Do You Know WHY Jesus Came?

Jeanne Gibson
Jesus was born so that mankind could be reconciled to God.

Today, I was thinking that, just maybe, when we celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day, the reconciliation He provided between us and God the Father, could also be extended to cover the healing of broken relationships in each of our families.

Children who have become angry and found other places to live; fathers who have walked out on their families; mothers who have become so involved with organizations or activities that they have no time left for husbands and children, and friends who have become so offended over a small disagreement that they write off a long-standing friendship are just a small sample of those involved in broken relationships.

I have a much loved family member who decided many years ago, to no longer communicate with the rest of the family. Our family has suffered much anguish because of the absence of this person, especially at Christmas time and Thanksgiving.

I do thank God for sending His Son so that we can be reconciled to our Father in Heaven. I pray that He would also turn the hearts of His people to each other this Christmas season so that broken homes and injured relationships might be healed.

May each member of the Associated Content community have a really special Christmas this year.

  • Christmas isn't about the gifts, the food, and Santa Claus
  • Christmas is a remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ.
  • Christmas is a time to think about reconciliation, not only to God, but to our loved ones.
