Well get ready to spend more time online ignoring those all-important e-mails. Magnetic Poetry has kits online that you can play with. Simply visit www.magneticpoetry.com and click on the Play link and it will take you to the section where you can play magnetic poetry online.
Your first step is to select a kit. When I visited most recently, they had six kits to select from: The Artist, Office, Romance, The Gardener and The Poet. At home I have several Magnetic Poetry kits and they have been mixed together so that I have more words to play with, but here I had to make a selection. So I chose The Gardener.
When you click on the kit you have selected it loads a background for you to put your poems on. The words are all in a frame on the side to the right of the background. You can't see all of the words, they are kind of on top of each other. But you can click and drag all of the words around as much as you want, and then you can see them and figure out what you want to do.
Everyone plays with Magnetic Poetry differently. Some people grab onto one or two words and starts from there. Some people make sentences and start playing that way. Other people start in earnest to actually build a poem. Just enjoy yourself and do whatever feels like the most fun to you.
You can spend as much time as you would like playing Magnetic Poetry, there is no time limit given to you. There is also a reset button if you would like to clear your board but to still play with this kit.
There is also a very interesting section of the Magnetic Poetry website where people have submitted poems that they have written. It is fun to read what others have done with Magnetic Poetry kits. You can submit as many poems as you would like to that section.
This is a great website to stretch your imagination and to play. This is a terrific way to take a break in the middle of the day and to tease your brain a little. This is perfect if you have a break at work but don't have the ability (or a magnetic surface) to actually play with your Magnetic Poetry at work, you've got it all right up there on your computer screen. It is a lot of fun and certainly something different to try.
