5 Things You Didn't Know About Susan Redstone: Susan Redstone is a British-born freelance stylist, on-air TV Personality, Style Writer and Author based in New York City where her beat is fashion, lifestyle, beauty and celebrities.

1- As a stylist Susan has created looks for live TV fashion segments (and hosted them, see below) for over six years. 5- As an Actor Susan appeared as the lead female during the summer of 2000 in the UK's Channel 4 documentary Manhattan On The Beach subsequently distributed in eleven countries and shown in the USA on Discovery Network'sThe Travel Channel, WE Network and Metro TV.

How did you get into fashion? Tell me how and when everything started: My very first foray into fashion was working retail, at a low cost fashions store in London called Dorothy Perkins. I was always so excited when new stock came in and loved styling the outfits for customers. Next, I was an intern at Cosmopolitan Magazine at National Magazines, also in London. But it wasn't until I had graduated college, had moved to Los Angeles and was freelance writing about fitness and celebrities that I figured I wanted to write about WHAT celebrities were wearing on those fabulous bodies! I started to pitch more fashion-oriented stories to the London Newspapers and before I knew it, I had moved to New York, was contributing constantly to outlets like the British Sunday Times, In Style and The New York Post. One day I woke up and saw my first fashion item in The New York Times Sunday Styles. That was a huge thrill.

When did you first know that you wanted to be in fashion? When I got an amazing scoop for a British magazine named LOOKS. Myself and a photographer snuck inside the wardrobe department of the hugely popular ER TV show on the Warner Bros lot in Hollywood, and we complied a fashion feature on everything that we saw - from how the clothes for our favorite actors were stored, to the sewing department and props - the whole thing.

If you weren't in the fashion industry, what would you like to be doing? I'd have loved to have been a TV host. Or making movies. As much as I'd have loved to have been an 'actress' type, I am not! So, I probably would have worked in the entertainment industry, likely in movie or TV development. I would hope I'd be working for a super large network or studio and of course, hoping that I'd be making megabucks!

Tell us about your fabulous store and what products or serviced do you offered? Everyone can buy my book "Just Try It On! A month-by-month-Guide to Shopping and Style" (Kensington Press - Citadel 2009). It's available at all Barnes & Noble stores and online. It's filled with surprises and cool ideas for the whole year, and comes from my resource of knowledge working in and around the business over the past decade. It starts with when to shop for what, branches out into how to store things, style things, edit your closet, recycle, give fashion gifts - the lot!

How would you describe your personal style? I have a split personality style. Probably because I live in two places. When I'm in Colorado, I'd describe my style as "Mountain Glamour". You need to dress appropriately when in the mountains of Colorado, but there is plenty of room for glitz and glam. When in New York, it's more "Uptown Trendy". I love interpreting the trends, but I'm more girlie than urban so I always wear them in a glossy way.

Who is your favorite designer? I love Badgeley Mischka. They are perfection. Their dresses are perfection. The lifestyle they promote is my fantasy aspiration and dream lifestyle. Gorgeous!

If you had a choice of all designers in the world, who would you prefer to work for? Why? I'd love to style a Max Azria fashion show. Any of his lines. They're all fun. His stuff is so wearable, accessible and easy and the collections so mix-y and match-y and the whole story is so well put together and so affordable for real life that no matter how 'out there' you'd present it, the wear-ability of the items would still shine through. He's also a really fun, dynamic straight man with a beautiful wife and large family and I feel that would carry through to a happy company ethic and vibe. I think they are also based in California, which would be a nice change. Any openings Max?!

Are there any special projects you would like to work on? I've been styling J C Penney products on live models for TV for some years now. I'd love to have a special project for them in-house working on developing design lines. I'd also die for my own TV show or recurring spot on a TV Magazine show like Extra or Access Hollywood.

Which magazines do you read? Which magazine is your favorite? I read all of them if they are lying around at the hair salon but gravitate towards Lucky, W, Glamour, Cosmo and Self usually. However, they're so heavy, that I only buy them when I take a plane, but limit myself to only one or my bag becomes unbearable. I will actually pay money for; Elle, Vogue and Vanity Fair and I always grab any mag that I am mentioned in! Just lately I've been in People Stylewatch and Life & Style Weekly!What do you see on stores that you think is really great? Right now, just loving the chunky wrap knit cardigans that feel so cozy, and, on warmer days work just fine as a coat. For the fast fashion fix, the knit berets that go with the cardies, especially those with a few sequins on, feel very French and chic and are inexpensive.

What motivates you? I always think that life is going by in a flash. So I move quickly as if to fit everything in! Every birthday whizzes by and I bring out my checklist of 'what to do before I die!' The overwhelming feeling that the world is so expansive and interesting and there are so many sights, sounds, smells, tastes and so on to experience gets me up and at it.

What's next for you? I wish I knew. The economy has to bounce back before the marketing dollars and departments are flowing with cash again and my freelance styling rebounds fully. In the meantime, I am constantly pitching TV shows and new book ideas, and hope that one of these will take off soon.

What do you do in your down time? I love to ski with friends, and ride my beautiful black horse, Jesse.
