I Do

Bubba
I miss Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread. My Grandpa Phillip Klausz SR showed me the joy of Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread. Kraft decided not to make it any more... For whatever the reason Kraft has decided to delete this wonderful product from their line of spreadable cheeses. Too Bad, So Sad... The Big Kraft folks have disappointed us once again. I have developed a recipe that is a good substitute. I hope this inspires you to try this wonderful tasty treat. Join me as I roll up my sleeves, take off my rings, wash my hands and get cooking...

Homemade Limburger Cheese Spread

Ingredients:

8oz brick Wisconsin Limber cheese @ room temp (your favorite brand) Don't use rind

8oz brick real cream cheese @ room Temp (Your favorite brand)

2 Tablespoons real butter (unsalted butter is better) Boycott Kraft

2+ Tablespoons Garlic Powder (not garlic salt)

Directions:

The easy way is a food processor but you can blend by hand. Make sure the butter and both cheese are @ room temp. Blend till smooth. Store in an air tight container. If this isn't thin enough please feel free to add more butter.

Notes:

The Queen Goddess and I love this spread with a slice of red onion on a slice of dark Rye bread. Perhaps a few pickled pigs feet to enhance the meal.

I have also enjoyed it tossed in some hot shell pasta with some black olives and some cherry tomatoes. My mouth is watering as I type this.

Butter your rye bread and spread the inside with this Homemade Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread to make the most delectable grilled cheese sandwich you've ever tasted.

One last dish is add a small amount to your tuna or chicken salad sandwich for a delightful change of pace.

There is a rumor this is great when served with an ice cold beer. You will have to report back to me on that since I quit drinking beer about 17 years ago.

OK the recipe is now yours. Share the link with all your friends and enemies too.. Make a batch to sell with a loaf of Rye Bread at the next church or school bake sale. Show Kraft Foods we will have our treats with out their help... Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread is no longer available. We now have the recipe for a homemade version of Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread. Call the Rabi, the Minister, the Priest (don't forget their spouses) tell 'em of you most recent discovery Homemade Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread.... Mizpah ;-}}>

Last week, my father who was craving for Mohawk Limburger Cheese spread and he's 86 years old. He was so sad and wish there's a small jar at Kroger. so, what I did was made for him and here's recipe ( i do my best):
First of all, make sure all of those limburger cheese/cream cheese softer like a room temp.
2 limburger cheese ( brick) from Amish Country and 1 tub of Chive/Onion cream cheese and 1 tub of 1/3 lowfat Chive/Onion cream cheese. 1 tsp of garlic power and 2 tsp of unsalted butter ( I use real one) then mixed it all. I did leave rind in it.
My father was so delighted and eaten almost everyday with one slice of rye bread. He says it is limburgercheese spread!
    Good Luck and Cheers :)

I would like to make this recipe but what exactly is Limber cheese. I cannot find it, and no one at the stores know what I am talking about when I ask.

I tried the above recipe and found it to be too strong in garlic flavor.
I made this one last night.
7 oz. block of Amish Limburger (trimmed off the brownish part.)
16 oz tub of whipped cream cheese.
Blended it until the cheeses were evenly distributed.
It was great on a Ritz cracker.
