Do Nice Guys Finish Last in Relationships?

Sometimes it really does seem like nice guys finish last especially in relationships. Although relationships should be a simple matter of love, fun and understanding they often turn out to be complicated. I've often wondered why good people end up in hurtful relationships.

You may have heard women comment that it's hard to find a good man. That may be true for some but there are women that aren't satisfied even when they do have a good man. It's not just women. There are men that are never happy no matter who they're with too.

There are good guys out there who take responsibility for children that are not their own. They watch the kids, clean the house, hand over their paycheck and treat their girls as well as they can. Still their girls moan about being unhappy and needing their space. Then the cheating begins.

First of all, if you're unhappy in a relationship get out of it. I've known women who have told their men they don't love them anymore and want them to get out only to be begging them to come back once they do leave. I know one couple that goes through this ritual on a regular basis. This guy reminds me of a yo-yo. I get dizzy just hearing about him moving in and out all the time. If I was him I'd be tired of that crap by now.

I've known guys who have had their clothes burned, their car windshields smashed and more. Just end the relationship and move on already. No one should have to put up with that kind of abuse. These same women are saying, "I love you" and holding out their hands on payday. No, all women are not like that. There are plenty of females out there who put up with their share of bad relationships too.

The question is: What does it take to make some people happy in a relationship? That's a difficult question indeed. Each person is different and every relationship is different. People often search for happiness in all the wrong places. They mistakenly think that money; material items or a new relationship will make them happy. Once they acquire those things they often find out that it's not really what they wanted and they're still not happy.

True happiness comes from within. They can jump from one relationship to the next never finding the happiness that they seek because they are unhappy with themselves.

If you want to be a yo-yo that's up to you but keep in mind that you can't make someone else happy if they are unhappy with themselves. Living a tug of war type of existence will only serve to make and keep you miserable. After all, misery loves company.
