Neuton Cordless Electric Mower $400
This guy is a conversation starter. It's lime green and looks pretty futuristic which is great for getting people talking about the importance of green options (pun intended). But aside from looking cool, its got some pretty nifty specs. It runs on a 24-volt battery which keeps it mowing for about an hour before you have to recharge. I recommend purchasing a spare. That way, you can pop that one in while the other one charges, which takes anywhere between 12-24hrs for a full charge. And you may need it, considering the Nueton Cordless Electric Mower only has a 14" cutting width. However, it does have 6 preset cutting height adjustments from 1.2" to 3" . So, you might spend longer cutting your grass, but you can be really precise. Unfortunately, you'll also be pretty tired. This 48lb mower is not self propelled. Check out www.neutonpower.com for more information.
Remington Power Mower $400
This electric mower comes with a cord attachment. I guess you could work your way closer to the house and plug it in after an hour. Or, you could just buy another battery. But you'll probably still need the cord at some point, considering their 60 volt battery can take up to 36hrs to fully charge. However, this electric mower does have a 17" cutting width so maybe you'll get done faster than you will with the Nueton. And, with single-touch adjustment you can get your grass to the height you want with ease. But, if you still don't like the mower, Remington offers a 30 day money back guarantee. Go to www.remingtonpowermower.com for ordering information for the world's only electric mower with a corded option.
Black & Decker CM M1200 $600
This guy is the most expensive, but it comes with some perks. While your neighbor is waiting a day and a half for his cordless electric mower to recharge, you can mow all day with as little as 4hours in between sessions (if you think about it, a three day turnaround time might not be such a bad idea). Which is lucky, because the Black and Decker doesn't come with a removable battery, so when you're out of juice you have to go back in the house and enjoy a glass of lemonade. It's a really big drawback, I know. But since this mower has a 19" cutting width, you might not need that break after all. And, you'll be doing the environment a favor by not clogging up landfills with all those extra batteries. Check out www.blackanddecker.com for more information.
