Do You Smother Your Boyfriend?

Megan Heyer
Men are different from women in every way - both physically and mentally. An act which is romantic for you may be very silly and impractical for your boyfriend because they are made that way. Usually guys want more liberty in the relationship. He does care for you but he doesn't want to lose his independence. These feelings of relationship and claustrophobia may have led him push you away. Here are some signs of stifling that you may be guilty of.

Do you call your boyfriend very frequently? If yes, you need to stop immediately because guys enjoy the chase. If you show your eagerness and interest, they may lose interest and think that you are easily available. If you insist that you spend every weekend together, your boyfriend may not like it. If you want him to enjoy and please him, give him some space and take a break in between. He needs some time to miss you because too much of a good thing is not good, so meet your friends and relatives at times. He may also want to spend some time alone or with his friends. Everyone needs time for himself and would like to spend time alone or with his own set of friends. He will go mad if you're in his life all the time.

If you pester him too much and persist that he carries you to every party or gathering he goes to, he might feel annoyed and irritated. Everyone needs time away from the person that they're dating. He can do this by spending time and relaxing with his friends without the requirement of their partner or better half.

If he wants to go to a party or sports event alone with his friends and you say OK, you should never follow him or show up in the middle or at the end. This could be extremely irritating and it's a strong sign that you're suffocating him by not giving him any breathing space. This will make you look like a pest.

If you go to a party where only your boyfriend is invited and if he is not very keen about taking you there, you should not push him much. It is necessary that you understand that he does not like this habit of yours.

If you don't give space to your boyfriend, he would feel stifled and this would show your insecurity and not love.

A very needed article! Women need to stop acting like junior high girls and learn how to be involved in adult relationships.
