Do You Speak Dog?

Day Fifty

Diane Zoller-Ciatto
Nana isn't home right now,
I'm babysitting a few loves,
With two teenagers grands,
And two Husky grandpups!

So here I am away from Poppy,
While daughter and Sonny are away,
They went to Florida on a biz trip,
So I get to stay here and play.

But one thing that I discovered,
And pardon me if I squawk,
I only understand what meows mean,
But I don't understand dog talk.

So with howls and whimpers,
From these two beauties,
I have four days to learn their language,
As I perform my grandmotherly duties.

So when they give me that certain look,
With eyes as blue as the sky above,
I'll be speaking their language,
In dogspeak; they are words of love.

Wonderful article. In our house, our dogs have voices and we speak for them. They can speak human, but there is some debate as to whether the humans can speak dog.
