Do You Support U.K.'s Over the Counter Viagra?

Perks and Downfalls of the "Blue British Explosion"

Lori Lane
Tired of that erectile dysfunction prescription price? United Kingdom starts selling eight Viagra pills over the counter for a sweet $81.50 on Monday. That's a little over $10 a pill.

According to the local Walmart pharmacy in North Carolina Viagra goes for $180 to $190 for ten prescription blue pills. That's approximately a little over $18 per pill. Some insurance companies may pay up to three pills for three months, but it's unheard of that insurance companies would pay for all ten within three months. Looks like U.K. is trying to keep up with better deals.

But then there's the down slope to Viagra sold in U.K. supermarkets.

First, everyone is watching you purchase the bottle of ego enhancers with a hundred dollar bill. Even the kids become partially educated on Viagra when their mothers take verbal note as you walk out of the store.

Second, is it possible, just merely possible, that a healthy adult will learn to depend on medication rather than what their body is naturally capable of?

Third, it may allow an open market where Viagra pill creators begin their Viagra wars overlooking a couple of slack ingredients taking away from the potential main ingredient - meaning, you could get a couple of duds.

Fourth, there's a chance condom prices could rise.

Fifth, if a man does not watch the intake he could lose his hearing or fall victim to a "stroke of the eye" (no pun). USA Today reported of the Viagra and hearing loss connection as A Drug Recall study offers another potential warning thanks to University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Sixth, where would the Viagra be found? Near the shampoo, behind the service desk, or behind the cashier? None of the above. They can be found in Tesco stores in the pharmacy area. We searched online and came up empty handed on the pharmacy, but found many Tesco supermarkets.

One thing is for sure when it comes to Viagra in the United Kingdom, it will be sold without prescription come this Monday. Men will have to go through a series of "over the counter" tests such as blood pressure, diabetes test and so on along with a questionnaire. And according to CNN a person can score four blue pill at the U.K. pharmacy Boots for $86.22 or go for the "other" deal, at half price.

Hold the Viagra! $86.22 for four, $81.50 for eight - it's a no brainer! Boot gets the boot, Tesco evidently is holding a Viagra sale that saves money for those hard to reach moments.

For the U.S. it's a different story. Don't expect the little blue men to be sold without a prescription any time soon. The FDA has suggested the warnings of Viagra in combination of some conditions or pre-existing prescriptions, at this time.

The little pink pill is a female version of Viagra. Give that to a man who slips it into a drink of an unwilling female and we've got a problem ladies! But not to worry, as Huffington Post reports, the FDA rejected the pink pill this year. Interestingly enough they did studies on females. It's almost "out there" to think of what the women acted like after downing those pills. And who wants to imagine what the mens tests were like? Let's keep it clean shall we?

As for the uplifting U.K. news that some men could only dream of, let the U.K. Viagra wars begin! Just keep the British explosion off U.S. soil.
