Do You Wan to Be a Loser? You Can Be! How to Audition for The Biggest Loser

Beth Inman
Everyone knows about The Biggest Loser. At least, everyone I know does; and if they have a problem with their weight they want to be on the show. Everyone wants to be The Biggest Loser.

Well, you have a chance. Biggest Loser is once again accepting applications for the sew season. What, you say, do you have to do to be included? Well, here are some tips for you.

A.Fill out the application. Visit the website (information below) and get yourself a copy of the application. Be sure and complete the entire application. It would be a shame to be overlooked because you forgo to sign it! You must be a legal resident of the U.S. and at least 18 years old.

B. Make a video, and make it convincing. They will only accept movies on DVD, VHS or MINI DVD...and they mean this. They won't even look at anything else. If you are applying as a team make the video together. Write your name and contact info on the video if possible. They are looking for outgoing personalities, someone with a lot of charisma. If you have got it, flaunt it. Don't do sexy or obnoxious...this is not what they are looking for - that's another show. The video should be 10 minutes long - not 8, not 12.

Give them your name or names if you are interviewing as a team.

Tell them where you live, they need to know your where your hometown is - Biggest Loser has representatives from each state.

Explain why you think you should be on the Biggest Loser, and make it personal.

Your video should take the viewer through a typical day in your life. If you are auditioning as a team, show the connection between you; are you immediate family, husband or wife or co-workers?

Don't just tell they why you want to lose the weight...show them.

Personality is very important. If you've got it ... now is the time to flaunt it!

C. Send a picture; a current one! Make sure it is close enough to see your features, and make it a body shot. Write the date on the back of the photo along with your name and contact information. Do it with something that will not damage the photo.

D. If there is a casting call near you...show up...and show up early. Important: they will not let you line up more than 3 hours before the audition begins. Be there 3 hours before the audition begins though, they will only promise to see the first 500 people. Be one of them.

The producers of Biggest Loser often accept team applicants. If this is what they are looking for, be sure you know what the rules are:

Team applicants include but are not just limited to children & parents, married couples, grandparents, brothers & sisters. Twins...move to the front of the line... Married couples qualify as do co-workers, teammates, any of your friends.

It is important that you get everything in to them as soon as possible. Remember, what you send in, will not be returned. Do not send that favorite picture or movie that you just have to get back...it won't happen.

Have fun....good luck! Hope you are the next Biggest Loser!
