Do You Have a Warrant Out on You?

A Story After Being Arrested and Put in Jail

Sunflower
My friend has had the experience of being behind bars, he was arrested because there was a warrant out for his arrest because of a missed court date he didn't know about. So, he was out driving one night on his way to get something to eat and was pulled over by the police because of a light on his license plate he knew nothing about it was not working, the light was out, that was the whole reason he was pulled over in the first place. After he was stopped by the police officer, the officer ran a check and found out he had a warrant out for his arrest, because of a missed court date it was a mix - up because when he had went to court the month before the judge was asking him why are you here? big mix up, so, whoever put the warrant out didn't show up in court so they told him he could leave. The next thing you know after they pull him over they told him they were placing him under arrest because of a warrant out for his arrest.

His stay in jail was not pleasant because as you properly know you can only do certain things, he got his phone calls, but, as for as the food he only got two slices of bread with a slice of cheese and a cold cup of coffee, the sandwich was cold to, and for dinner he got two slices of bread with a slice of Bologna and a cold cup of coffee, you're not allowed to smoke or watch any T.V. or anything like that after all this is jail. At night if you don't ask for a blanket or something you will not have any covers to keep warm. The prisoners do not have any access to water where they can clean themselves up or any soap so that they can take a shower, they have to appear in court that way smelling, and stinking. The inside of the cell really stinks because, they can't even brush their teeth, or, comb their hair, nor do they have any kind of deodorant, so it really smells bad in the cells where they keep the prisoners in lock up awaiting court.

In many holding cells a lot of inmates get beat up by the police for no good reason and because they know they can get away with it, and no one will see or tell on them ,police brutality, many of us have no idea of what all goes on behind bars and close doors. , They want to make you never want to come there again because, they want you to know they're in charge and they don't want you to forget it my friend says. And depends on who you are you may get some type of special treatment. Like our formal governor George Ryan who went to service his prison sentences today, my friend says he will never be treated like the other inmates because of who he is, and it's not that he deserve to be there or anything but, all the inmates are never treated the same, like, some are allowed to get Mc Donald's when other are not, and some are allowed to smoke when other are not, and some are allowed to have other special privileges which others are not, some get to choose where they'll serve their time when other will not.

My friend says some of these places they call a prison is nothing more than a recreation home or center for those they don't want to severely punish but, just want the public to believe they really went to prison because, they can't just let them go free, and how would that look to others who's really doing hard time.

The police took my friend to the station and put him in jail with a large bond amount for him to pay in order to get out on bond he had to pay a large amount. So, he had to spend one day in jail awaiting to make bond, this was on the weekend and no one could get that kind of money until Monday morning. He appeared in bond court on Monday morning and luckily he made bond otherwise he would have had to remain in jail until his court date, plus he would also have to be moved to 26th and California in Chicago, IL where they have the real criminal locked up and serving time or awaiting for their court date.

My friend didn't break any law the court dates just got mixed - up and somehow whoever put out the warrant didn't cancel it after the judge said he didn't suppose to be in court that day, but, still he had to post bond and spend time in jail for someone else's mix-up.

The lesson behind this article is to make sure you're not missing any court dates, and have all the facts on what you need to do, especially after someone tells you that you didn't have a court date, investigate.

From this site we know that A warrant is a report to provide services or goods. It is like Finance Warrant. So don’t allow collectors take advantage of a person. Call your authorities if you feel these are running a rip-off.

That's very sad about your friend,I hope someone sued the hell out of them. And,it is alwful how they treat people in there. I know what you're saying make the place at least a little bit liveable with a blanket, and some senseable food. That's not to much to asked.

You are lucky you that received a piece of bread with cheese or bologna! At the Waukegan/Gurnee Jail, you don't get a blanket, have to stay in an all concrete jail with no bed/cot or anywhere to sit with a room full of people who are as miserable as you are. And the cops keep it SUPER cold in there because they are hot from having to wear their bullet-proof vests. It's very inhumane and disgusting!! They want me to donate money to their police ball?!! How about donating money for some, at least, humane facilities!!!! I'm not demanding a lazyboy and a big screen television. I absolutely do not want my tax dollars to go to making our prisoners as comfortable as possible. It's not a hotel, it's a jail for crike's sake! All I'm requesting is a humane environment. I didn't even mention the worst part. One of my close older friends died right when he got home because he had been missing his meds the entire time he was in jail because they refused to give them to him during his stay. He had l
