Do We Become Happier as We Get Older?

Research Seems to Show That, Yes We Do

Do we become happier as we get older? Research seems to show that. After many years of doing the money thing, we have either accepted our affluence and no longer feel the need to show off our wealth or keep up with anyone. At the other end of the scale, we have accepted our circumstances after being let go from a long employment with a single employer which downsized or disappeared, forcing us into another career path or self-employment, and have had to drastically cut our standard of living.

This drastic change, although at first dreaded, may be greatly beneficial, giving a new outlook on life and our place in the world. Like the famous Colonel Sanders, who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken after retiring, it may lead to a renewal that will be a much better fit than any previous employment, and provide greater income.

With the advent of the internet and an assortment of portable electronic devices, it is much easier than ever to start a business and stay connected to it from anywhere. There are also several companies online that will help outsource any part of the business that someone would rather not do, so they can concentrate on doing what they enjoy most.

The sky is truly the limit with the global reach that the Internet offers. This new freedom may seem uncomfortable to someone who had no decision-making at a previous employer, as they were told what, where, when, and how when employed. It may be a slow frustrating transition, but when it is planned properly, it could translate into a midlife success.

Virtual assistants are now available to care for any unpleasant chore that detracts from anything you really want to do. A VA can provide more free time to devote to whatever you enjoy most in your home-based business, or a longing for more traveling or family time.
